    This journal article examines the paleobiogeography of the Aosta Valley region in Italy following the last glacial period through analysis of plant macrofossils found in the area. The fossils reveal that initially the landscape was tundra with sparse vegetation before transitioning to an open woodland dominated by pine and birch. Over time the area became more forested with an increasing presence of deciduous trees like oak and lime.
