My Summer Holidays

During my summer holidays, I went to Bagan with my family. It is such an

awesome ancient city, which has more than 2,200 pagodas. Although we couldn’t
visit to all of those pagodas, we visited a few while we were there. On our first and
the last day, we walked to two different pagodas. We parked our car at a restaurant
where we had breakfast and left around 9 a.m. I wore a long sleeve shirt with
trousers and a hat to protect myself from the sun light.

We walked to the first pagoda, named Shewzigon. It is located in Nyaung-U, a

town near Bagan. The walk was really long and tiredly. We always had to take
short breaks as we got really tired. The sun was shining, lots of sweat wet my shirt,
and my heart rate was increasing. After we finally got to Shwezigon pagoda, I was
amazed by the clear sky on top of the pagoda. The two beauties combining were
just perfect for a nice picture.

Although it was hot, I still enjoyed walking around the pagoda, exploring every
side of it. The second pagoda we visited was Lawka Nanda. It was quite far but we
still made it there before 3 p.m. Lawka Nanda was erected on the bank of the
Ayeyarwaddy River, which made the view amazing. The fresh air we got was
nothing like in Yangon. Since it’s a pagoda, we had nothing to do but to sit by the
river and enjoy the evening view while eating some snacks we brought. We
skipped lunch and dinner that day as we were too tired and full from drinking too
much water. I had the best day there and I’m thinking of visiting again next year.
