Management and coordination

The study project will be managed between two participating institutions. It will be directed
from the University of Derby (United Kingdom) in partnership with Ernest Cook Ultrasound
Research and Education Institute from Uganda. The project team will comprise an
interdisciplinary team from sociology, humanities, Information and Communication
technology, education and business management. Each activity coordinator will have
expertise in the relevant field as shown in the CVs.

PI Sam Kasule will provide direction, management and coordination of the project activities
to ensure timely delivery of the project outcomes. Further still, he will guide on the delivery
of the collected of stories and legends. He is an internationally recognised expert in African
politics and culture, and theatre and performance relating to the African diaspora.

CoI Paul Njuki will provide guidance on child literacy. He has extensive experience in early
child hood education focusing on Child Language and Language disability.

CoI Cedric Nkiko will guide in the devedevelop the digitalised stories and legends. Cedric
has worked on a wide range of programmes from Massive Open Online Courses. 

CoIs Birungi, Kawooya and Mbabazi will coordinate activities like identifying and compiling
stories and legends and conduct teacher trainings. These are early childhood lecturers at
Ernest Cook Research and Education Institute with immense pedagogical skills.

Research officer Malumba will review and analyse data in the course of the project.
