Part IV – Chords – (PDF 4of 4)

Example 1

Here the idea is to stack 4th intervals and then harmonize the scale .
Example 2

We can also break previous voicings into smaller parts.

Lick 1

An easy lick to explore those nice sounding chords within the Am pentatonic scale.
Lick 2

Smaller, 3 notes voicings works great too. Regarding the slides, we can approach any note or chord
up or down a half step. It creates a nice effect and opens some new interesting options.

Example 3

In the scale we've got the Aminor and C Major chords. First chord played is the Am and then just
move to the next next box, harmonizing the scale along the different boxes. The 3 other chords are
suspended 4 / sus4 chords.
Example 4

In previous example lowest and highest note were the same. If we remove one we get those
voicings.

Lick 3

Obviously we can use the chord shapes to create interesting solo lines. Those sus4 chords /
arpeggios sounds really great in my opinion !
Lick 4

Now we combine everything together... !

Hope you enjoyed this course, have fun exploring all this material !
