 INTRODUCTION

My “Freewriting for Travel Writers” how to guide ebook includes a 100 travel writing prompts to get
your freewriting creative juices flowing.
I’ve released these travel writing prompts in two different Workbooks for those of you who want the
benefit of a physical book to work in. This is Workbook #1 and contains 10 travel writing prompts.

How to use this workbook

Choose the travel writing prompt you want to work on and set your timer.
I’ve included a date and time limit box at the beginning of each prompt so
that you can keep track of when you worked on the prompt and how long you
wrote for.
At the end of each prompt I’ve included a 5-star status box.
You can use this space to capture your progress.
How successful was your freewriting session? If it was really successful,
give yourself 5-stars.
If you struggled during your session (and you will to begin with) capture
this information accordingly.
This isn’t intended to be a grade, it merely a reminder to yourself of how
well your session went.
You can also jot down any key learnings or things you experienced during your freewriting session.
Was it fruitful? Did you struggle to concentrate? Were there lots of distractions? Did you get into the
zone? Whatever you felt, write it in the box.
I’ve allotted you two full pages for each prompt. I’ve lined these pages with pale grey dots so that if
you don’t want to write between the lines your can set your creativity free without feeling
constrained.

After each set of 5 prompts, I’ve included a couple of note-taking pages. The first page features
brainstorming boxes, and the second page has space to capture notes and flashes of inspiration.
