Lab Dip Development

Dyeing lab work involves developing lab dips, which are fabric swatches dyed to match color standards, in order to guide bulk dyeing production. A textile engineer or technician will receive a standard swatch from the buyer and use a spectrophotometer or manual methods to determine possible color combinations for dyeing a sample. The sample then undergoes dyeing, washing, drying, and ironing processes before being shade matched against the standard and sent for buyer approval, with corrections made if needed. Once approved, the lab dip becomes the standard for bulk production dyeing.

Dyeing Lab:

At first dyeing is performed in dyeing lab and then starting for bulk production. Dyeing lab
work is called lab dip development. A lab dip is a swatch of fabric test dyed to hit a color
standard. Lab dip plays an important role in dyeing process. Bulk dyeing process completely
depends on the lab dip. In the lab, lab dip or sample is developed by the textile engineer or
technician. Flowchart of lab dip is given below.
