This British Standard has been prepared under the authority of the
Mechanical Engineering Industry Standards Committee at the request of
the Ministry of Supply, following the Anglo-American-Canadian
Conferences on the unification of engineering standards held during
1943-5.

1. This British Standard relates to screw threads of buttress form and
