Figure 1

Figure 1 shows the integral design of the modular lamp

developed by the researchers. This sketch shows the initial plan

for building the modular lamp.

As it is shown in Figure A, there are three (3) outer major

parts of the modular lamp as it also labels the measurements of

the height (19.05 cm), length (8.26 cm), and width (8.26 cm) of

the modular lamp. Structural Adhesive was used to achieve a

clear, glass-like finish, Low Density Polyethylene Plastics

(LDPE) was used in order to dim the bright light emitted by the

light bulb, and lastly, a wooden base was used for structural

integrity purposes as well as it being accessible and can be

easily modified. Figure B shows a cross section of the lamp; it

shows a bottom portion of a plastic bottle for the sole purpose

of avoiding leakage when the uncured epoxy resin (structural

adhesive) is poured. It also shows a small light bulb (enough to

fit in a 2x2 hole) mounted on a receptacle that has stationary

support rods for stabilization purposes. Lastly, a 2x2 inch hole

and a wire passage is seen in Figure C, which is to be covered by

a thin piece of wood with two (2) flat head screws in the

opposite corners. This would only imply that the modular lamp is

indeed sturdy, accessible and well-made because of careful

planning and proper execution.

Figure 2
Figure 2 exhibits the modular lamp’s constitutive design

that the researchers have come up with. These portraits

demonstrate the initial plan on building the modular lamp.

In Figure A, four (4) Flat Head Screws are bolted on each

corner of the metal frame to provide equal distribution of weight

support. A side view of the modular stool is shown on Figure B

labelling the height of the modular stool as 51.44 cm. Figure C

illustrates that on top of the wood is the structural adhesive

containing all the Low Density Polyethylene Plastics and cut out

plastic wrappers. The metal legs are welded to the metal frame as

well as to each other to provide tremendous support for each leg.

This would imply that structural integrity is well accounted for

and the modular stool is well made due to meticulous planning and

proper execution.
