Pattern Stitches
Cable Cast-on Method: Place a slipknot on LH needle and k1, slip new st
onto LH needle; *insert RH needle between first 2 sts on LH needle, k1 from
this position, leave the first st on LH needle and slip new st onto LH needle.
Rep from * for desired number of sts.

Stockinette Stitch (St st)


Knit on the RS, purl on the WS.

Reverse Stockinette Stitch (Rev St st)


Purl on RS, knit on WS.

Seed St (even number of sts)

Abbreviations *BO to marked st and drop the marked st. (Slip the st on the RH needle
approx: approximately back to the LH needle and knit it again) twice; rep from *, BO to end.
BO: bind off Fasten off.
CO: cast on
k: knit Unravel the dropped sts all the way to the CO edge. Block scarf.
LH: left hand
patt: pattern Cut twelve 90" long (at least 12" longer than the scarf) pieces of D.
p: purl Using 2 pieces of yarn at a time and leaving ends of approx 6", weave
rep(s): repeat(s) through every other strand of the dropped sts. Weave 3 double pieces,
st(s): stitch(es) switching over and under strands for the center pieces, in each dropped
