This complaint is against John Stevens who is a state Senate candidate for the 24th Senate district,
Mr. Stevens is an attomey. He is not an attorney to my knowledge for the state of Tennessee.
(On his campaign disclosure report for the period ending 6/30/20 he listed "dues memberships” to the
Tennessee Bar Association. | believe that this is a personal expense and not a valid campaign
expenditure as required by state law as required by T.C.A. 2-10-114.
in addition, he shows a campaign expenditure to Rusty Crowe. Although Mr. Crowe is a state senator
he is not up for election for any state office in 2020. He is running as a candidate for a federal office.
| believe the contribution to a federal candidate is not allowed because of the statutory defnition
of a public office which includes only state and local offices but not federal offices. T.C.A. 2-10-102.
