THE MUSIC

CLASSRROOM
HOW IT INSIPIRES CHILDREN

How does it affect the

children?

01 Musical Instruments
Placing instruments that are safe
for the children to independently
handle such as drums and
xylophones, on low shelves, allow
the children to explore new sounds
and use to express themselves
(NEL, 2013), this helps generate
interest in music in the children.

02 Large space
The classroom is organised in a way
that furniture can be easily shifted to
create a large unobstructed space for
music and movement lessons.

This allows for more freedom in larger

movements and group activities. Thus
there would be less safety
concerns and children do not have
spacial restrictions when doing
movement activities which would
encourage them to dance and move

bigger.
As teachers, we want to share the children's
musical development with you! We provide
many opportunities where parents are invited
to come down to watch performances put up
by the children and also for them to bring
home improvised instruments that they made
out of recycle materials!
Additionally, we share materials such as
recommend books and songs that we
explored in class, in which you can do at
home with the children.
