Dear Parents/Guardians,

Your child attends a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) school in the Los Angeles Unified
School District (LAUSD) and is entitled to free meals. The Food Services Division offers Breakfast
in the Classroom (BIC), Lunch, and afterschool Supper that meet or exceed the Federal nutritional
guidelines. During the time of virtual learning, Food Services will be distributing daily meals at
selected school sites. Please check the district website achieve.lausd.net for the location nearest you.

At Café LA, we offer healthy food that includes whole grain rich products, fresh fruits and
vegetables, chickens raised with No Antibiotics Ever, low sodium, no nitrates, no sulfites, no trans-
fat, no added colors, and no artificial sweeteners. Many of our meals feature familiar name brands
such as Kellogg’s and General Mills for breakfast. We also use Tyson chicken and Jennie-O turkey.
Please encourage your child to eat at school and know they are getting a meal that is nutritious and
delicious.

You and your child can review our menu at achieve.lausd.net/cafela. Additionally, this letter may be
submitted to your local internet provider to confirm meal eligibility status for a reduced rate in
