Arrangement Drawings, Bill of Materials, Bill of Quantity Drawn by One Engineer in the Eastern World
is Always Understood the Same Way by Another Engineer of the Western World
Away from this Engineering Document List, At the same time of Utmost Importance is the Document

How A Fresher Engineering Graduate CV Should Look?
Dear Engineering Fresher
You May be thinking of various reasons why you are not getting your First Job Yet?

1.1 Its Called CV Not Resume
I have seen many Engineering Freshers write their CV as “Resume”
No. Its Not Resume. The Meaning of Resume is that a Professional Who was working in a Job
is Resuming again and writing a Resume for taking another Job
In your Case, you are an Engineering Fresher – You are writing only CV. CV means Curriculum
Vitae. You are writing all your major salient points of your Curriculum and asking for a Job
Opportunity Function to work for. You should mention it as “CV” and Never as Resume
1.2 No Personal Information on CV – Only Email ID and Phone#:
Except Email Address and Phone Number - Do Not provide any Information about Personal
Address, Date of Birth in Your CV. These are all not required. When HR Personnel needs
these information, they will request you and you shall provide it at that time. These
information like Address and Date of Birth are Personal Information and Should Not Be
Disclosed Public in CV
1.3 Do Not Include Hobbies, Co-Curricular, Extra Curricular Activities & Declaration:
Paragraphs on Hobbies, Co-Curricular Activities, Extra Curricular Activities, Declaration –

Must be Strictly Removed from the CV. Including these Details will harm your CV. It will
distract the recruiter and makes him think that you are not straight to the point and are
beating the bush with pleasantries
These Details are of Importance Only After You Join the Organization for the Given Job. At
that time, HR will collect these inputs from you and Later will take your full-fledged
contribution for CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Activities
1.4 Top Three Title Impressive Lines of Your CV:
The Top Title First Line of CV should say “Curriculum Vitae of Your First Name Last Name"
The Top Title Second Line of CV should have a Tag line stating "Engineering Fresher, Passed
Our Year 2017, B.E (Department)"
The Top Title Third Line of CV should say In SMALL Fonts - All Computer Skills Package
1.5 Footer Section of Your CV Should Contain:
CV Should have a Footer Section That Say All the Following in Very Small Font Size
(Preferably 6 Size Only) – All in One Single Line with Equal Space…
CV of Your First Name Last Name – Page # - Email ID – Mobile #
Salient Point On this Paragraph 1.5 (On Email ID & Mobile # - Whatsapp#)
You are an Engineering Fresher in the Age Group of 20s. And You will be working in the
Engineering Industry for At Least Next 35 Years. Being So, It is Wiser for you to Open a Fresh
Email Address that states your Firstname.Lastname@email.com
This is a Must for Working in the Corporate Industrial World. No Choice. It Should and Must.
And Mobile # you provide in your CV should be an Official Mobile #. Do Not Have any
Personal Whatsapp Profile Images or Status or Status Messages in that Mobile#. That does
not look professional. It should be a Mobile # which is exclusive for your CV. It should say
whatsapp status “Available”. It should have whatsapp profile with a Clean Straight Facing – A
Slight Smiling Photograph – With a Coat and Suit – Facing the Camera – Similar to USA Visa
Photograph. Note that In USA Visa Photograph – Slight Smile Not Allowed. But In your
Whatsapp PROFILE Photo – Include that Slight Smile… This will Boost your Image when
deliberately or intentionally the interviewer tries to look at your whatsapp profile or status…
1.6 Objective Section of Your CV Should Contain:
The First Impressive Section of your CV is to have a Paragraph Titled “Objective”.
Remember this in Life: When you enter a Professional Meeting in the Future, you should not
enter until you have an Agenda for that Meeting. Similarly, With Out a Clear Objective – The
CV does not make any sense at all.
Objective is the Heart of the CV
How to have a clear objective?
1. First, Do Not Copy Paste Any Objective from an Old CV or A Friends CV

2. Think about the Job Function (Job Description) you are applying and write an Objective
in Line with that.
3. The Word Contribute Must be Part of the Objective.
4. Industry Expects Contribution from You. That’s the First thing. Later it will provide you
Growth. Then it becomes Mutual Growth for Both you and industry. That is how it
works… So, please make sure To Include “To Contribute” as a Keyword in your CV
Salient Point On this Paragraph 1.6 (On Objective):
The Below is an Example of Objective I Guided a Mechanical Engineer to Write On His CV.
He was applying for the Job Function of “Application Engineer” in a Turbo Machinery OEM.
Objective:
To Work as the Application Engineer for Rotating Equipments at your Esteemed Organization
and Start Contributing My Best Efforts After Passing Through a Quick Learning Curve...
If You READ the Objective Above, it contain all essential content for a Quality “Objective”
1. It Says “A Clear Straight Forward Point Blank and Precise Communication”

2. It Says “The Target”
3. It Says “Start Contributing”
4. It Says the “Need for a Sharp Learning Curve” (Training Before He Starts Performing)
1.7 Qualification Section of Your CV:
After Objective Paragraph – Next Paragraph is “Qualification”. Example Given Below
Qualification:
B.E (Mechanical Engineering)

Graduated from Anna University, Chennai, INDIA with CGPA 8.22 Passed Out Year 2017
Note: If You are M.E Degree or MBA Degree Holder after a B.E – Then Its Simple – Add Two
Lines on that First and then add your B.E Degree details same as above… Let both
follow the same format…You Should Include your UG and PG Degree. Don’t alone
mention only one
1.8 Paragraph on Strong Knowledge on Fundamentals of the Following Majors:
In your 4 Year B.E Degree and (For PG Graduates Together with your M.E Degree), You will
have 3 Major Subjects on which you will have Fundamental Strong Knowledge.
You should mention those three subjects in this Section as A Must…
For Example:
Advanced Thermo Dynamics
Heat and Mass Transfer
Engineering Economics and Energy Management
1.9 Paragraph on Major Accomplishments on the B.E or M.E Project:
Let us take few minutes here to understand about the Fundamentals of WHY Academic Project is
Given in the Final Semester and What is the Industries Expectation on that and What is a Project
Ideally Should be?

An Academic Project Should have
A Specific Start, Execution Road Map, End
The Major Reason Why ACADEMIC Project is Given
As part of Engineering Curriculum in the Final Year of the Project is with the Goal of
Facilitating the Engineering Student "Process of Applying Your Mind"
What is the Process of Applying Your Mind:
Assimilate the knowledge an Engineering Student had gathered by Studying Various

Engineering Subjects in the first 7 semesters.
Use this Assimilated Knowledge and Apply Mind to Find What is Your Favourite Field
of Engineering Interest.
Discuss with Industry Experts on the Current Trend of YOUR Favourite Engineering
Field of Interest. Ask them What are the Acute and Perennial Engineering Problems
that Exist in this Industry. Find a Project for you that will Leverage Your Academic
Learning and An Opportunity for Practical Industrial Learning
Ideally, Start for Search of Academic Project should happen by Start Of 6th Semester
itself. Then Only, Ample time will be available for landing on the RIGHT ACADEMIC
Project
Below the Example for Major Accomplishment Paragraph on CV Is Given in Detail…
Major Accomplishment During My B.E Academic Project*:
1. Detailed Study and Analysis of Overall Cement Manufacturing Plant HMBD and Figured
Out Waste Heat Recovery Potential
2. Performed Energy Balance and Arrived at the IDEAL Design Parameters (Design Pressure,
Temperature and Flow at Inlet and Exit) of the Steam Turbine Generator. Figured Out the
Optimized Zone of Operation. This ensured Continuous Operation with ZERO Tripping of
the Steam Turbine Generator Irrespective of Variation in Waste Heat Recovery from the
Cement Manufacturing Process.
1.10 Your CV Needs an Annexure Presentation Document on your Academic Project
You have written about Major Accomplishment on Your Project.
Now
What If the Interviewer is curious and is interested in knowing what you did exactly
on your Academic Project, How It went and what you learnt?
To Answer that Curiosity – It is wiser to Add an Annexure Presentation Document to

your ACADEMIC Project that will have 5 Slides and Content as described below…
Flow of Slides and Content on Project Presentation Annexure Document to CV:
Slide 1 - Opening Title Slide - Title of the Project - Summarizing in a Two-Line

Sentence Telling All About the Title of the Project - Trying to Cover in those Two
Lines What is this Project All About...
Slide 2 - Project Introduction - This should tell what is happening in this world about
the project topic? What is wrong with that? Or What is Right with that and Needs
Improvement ?
Slide 3 - Project Execution Road Map - In this Slide you will talk about where the
Project Started and What all it Covered and How it travelled and How it get
completed?
Slide 4 - My Area of Contribution - This is very important slide - While the Project
may be a Major One or Minor One, what you contributed is of key importance and
interest to the Interviewer... Please write three or four key points which tell what
you did, and it should be able to show how you applied your mind to the Project...
Slide 5 - Talks About 3 Important Attributes that Improved Your Confidence Level
Before and After the Project. For Example, Before the Project - I did not know how
to read HMBD. After Project I knew well. Before Project I did not know how to
calculate power plant equipment efficiency in practical, After Project I learnt And
Similar to Like that... This will be vital because it shows that you had used your
Project to Learn Something Really Solid...
