More Detailed Descriptions About The Online Teaching Apps in

Clever and Navigation Tips

Parents I wanted to let you know in more detail what my weekly online teaching
will cover. Students will use the Wonders App online in Clever to read our 2
weekly stories ( 1 short, 1 long) and there will be worksheets online to completed
and submitted. They will take an online test on Friday that will cover the weekly
vocabulary words and comprehension questions. They will find independent work
assignments on the Wonders Dashboard. Look for the green circle with the check
mark in it. It is called the TO Do list. We will start off slow and then add more
assignments as we get familiar with it. Some assignments might be reading
stories, watching a vocabulary power point, watching a grammar video,
completing online worksheets, and playing vocabulary games. Only a few are
typing answers on worksheets. Typing the answers on the worksheets and
submitting them is probably the biggest challenge. You should follow the exact
order and complete 2 to 3 assignments a day as independent work after the Zoom
meeting. We will do many examples during Zoom meetings.
For math we will use the Think Central App(Go Math!) On Clever-find the Think
Central App . The app should automatically log you in.Just wait a second or 2.
Then click Things To Do on the menu and read the assignments that need to be
done by Friday. Click on the lesson and get started. Math homework, tests, and
any helpful math videos are also included here. Press the TURN IN tab to submit it
to be graded. All work is due by Friday. We will do examples in Zoom meetings.
This a student friendly website with interactive video lessons.
Students will read daily using the Epic Book App. They will choose and read AR
books on the Epic Book App for 20 or more minutes a day and take AR tests on
the Renaissance Clever App when they have finished the book. They should read
1 chapter book a week or 2 shorter books a week They should earn at least 1 or
more AR points a week. The Epic App keeps a daily reading log for the student
which I will be checking to make sure daily independent reading is being done.
There will be various Google Classroom writing assignments that students will
type, share, and send to me.
Zoom Meetings will be daily at 9:00am. I will take attendance which is now
required by the district and explain upcoming lessons, teach lessons, and check on
progress. Parents, an adult or a responsible older sibling may need to be present
for a while incase help is needed with computer technology.
