com Sabbath p,1

What about the 10 commandments- God’s moral law?
Before the law was given to Moses, before there was sin in the world. God gave
us the Sabbath. We read
Gen 2:1-3 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the
host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made;
and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And
God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from
all his work which God created and made.

The Sabbath is God's sign of ownership of our world and of us. It is His sign because
He is the Creator. God created our planet and all forms of life on it in seven days; He
gives this as His reason for making the Sabbath His sign of authority to rule the world. It
was given that all men might, in the keeping of the Sabbath, accept this sign of creative
sovereignty. The fourth commandment states:
Exd 20:8-11 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all
the work. But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any
work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor
thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea,
and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath
day, and hallowed it.

When God blesses, His blessing is forever.

1Ch 17:27 Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before
thee for ever: for thou blessest, O LORD, and it shall be blessed for ever. And His blessing
cannot be reversed by man.
Num 23:19-20 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent:
hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Behold, I
have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.

God does not change.

Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Ecc 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his
commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment,
with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil .
Psa 111:7-8 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness
Psa 119:152 Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old that thou hast founded them for
ever.

If we don’t know what sin is, how can we ask forgiveness?

Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the
law [is] the knowledge of sin.
Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Rom 6:14-15 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under
grace. What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God
forbid.
Rom 7:7 What shall we say then? [Is] the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by
the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
Rom 7:12 Wherefore the law [is] holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
Jam 2:10-12 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one [point], he is guilty of
all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no
adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. So speak ye, and so do, as
p,2
they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
Psa 32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess
my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
1Jo 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness.
1Jo 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is
not in him.
1Jo 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the
law.
1Cr 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I
speak [this] to your shame.
Hbr 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there
remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Pro 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer [shall be]
abomination
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened:
and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those
things which were written in the books, according to their works.

After Jesus died, the apostles wrote many scriptures in regards to observing the Sabbath.
They never once told us not to keep the Sabbath.
Mat 12:8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath day.
Mar 3:4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath days, or to do evil? to save
life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
Mat 12:11-12 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one
sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the Sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift [it] out? How
much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the Sabbath days.
Mar 2:27 And he said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath
Luk 4:16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he
went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read .

Jesus kept all of His Father's commandments, including the Sabbath command. He did
not come to destroy them but to show how they should be kept. Listen to the words of
Jesus to his followers:
Mat 5:17-18 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to
destroy, but to fulfil . For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle
shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Jhn 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Jhn 14:20-21 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He
that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me
shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him .
Jhn 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my
Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

When Jesus had completed the sacrificial atonement on the cross, He rested in Joseph's
new tomb on the Sabbath while His followers carefully kept the day holy.
Luk 23:52-56 This [man] went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. And he took it down,
and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man
before was laid. And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. And the women
also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his
body was laid. And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath
day according to the Commandment.
p,3
When Paul was on trial for his very life he confessed that he believed everything written
in the law and the Old Testament prophets.
Act 24:14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the
God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets :

As this apostle to the Gentiles traveled from city to city he taught Gentiles as well as
Jews on the Sabbath. The Gentiles of Paul's time were conscious of the Sabbath and
attended church to hear the gospel.
Act 13:14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the
synagogue on the Sabbath day, and sat down.
Act 13:42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these
words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.
Jesus was so smart he summed up all of the Ten Commandments in a simple way for us.
Mar 12:28-31 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and
perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God
is one Lord: and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with
all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is]the first commandment. And the second is like,
namely] this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater
than these. The first four of the Ten Commandments are about loving God just like
Jesus told us in Mar 12:30. The last six are about loving thy neighbour, as Jesus states in
Mar 12:31.

The Bible speaks of no change in the commandments of God. The fourth commandment
is still to “remember” the Sabbath. It is a memorial of God's creative authority. Jesus
declared that He had not come to change God's holy law.
Hbr 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Mat 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Luk 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

The prophets of old knew of no change in the commandments either. The apostles knew
nothing of any change in the binding claims of the Ten Commandments, including the
Sabbath commandment. Finally, in the new earth the memorial of creation will still be
observed-the Sabbath kept. The Word of God declares,
Isa 66:22-23 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before
me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that
from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship
before me, saith the LORD.
Mat 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying,
Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of
the world?
Mat 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day.
Psa 40:7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book [it is] written of me, Psa 40:8 I
delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law [is] within my heart.
Hbr 8:10 For this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith
the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a
God, and they shall be to me a people:
Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of
her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of
God, and the faith of Jesus.
p,4
There have always been, since the beginning of creation, a people of God’s who have
kept the Sabbath. At first, the Catholic Church kept Sunday and the Sabbath. Then they
did away with the seventh day Sabbath and declared Sunday, the first day of the week,
the day for worship. But all threw the rise of the Catholic Church; there lived a people for
God. One such group of people was the Waldenses. The Waldenses followed the bible
exactly like the apostles. They keep all of the commandments of God.
How and who changed the Sabbath? When the Protestants came out of the Catholic
Church, they keep all of the pagan holidays and Sunday worship. Sunday was the festival
of the sun, in paganism.
Exodus 31:13. Verily MY SABBATHS ye shall keep: for it is a SIGN BETWEEN
ME and YOU throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord
that doth SANCTIFY YOU.
Dan 7:25 And he shall speak [great] words against the most High, and shall wear
out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall
be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Again and again the Papacy has stated that it has both the right and the power to change
even the laws of God. Read this Catholic statement:31. QUOTATION-POPE AND TEN
COMMANDMENTS "The Pope can modify divine law." -Prompfa Biblio+heca, "Papa,"
art. 2. That the Papacy has attempted to change the Ten Commandments is evident from
an examination of almost any Catholic catechism. The second commandment is removed
entirely, the tenth commandment is divided into two, and the fourth commandment is
changed. Any power that can change the law of God is greater than God Himself. The
prophet declared that this power would "think to change" God's law,
2Th 2:2-4 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor
by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means:
for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be
revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or
that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

God's law cannot be changed, for God never changes and none is as great as God.

I found this today on the internet: By Philip Pullella Posted Mon Mar 10, 2008 6:00am PDT
VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Thou shall not pollute the Earth. Thou shall beware genetic
manipulation. Modern times bring with them modern sins. So the Vatican has told the faithful
that they should be aware of "new" sins such as causing environmental blight.

God has convicted me to write this letter to you. I know we are saved by Jesus and Jesus
only!
Act 15:11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved,
even as they.
Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given
among men, whereby we must be saved.

But as you know Jesus is our example. We must do and act just like him.
Mat 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny
himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

p,5
Jesus followed and kept the whole law. Obeying God is the only thing we need to do in
this life. The devil was taken out of his place in heaven because he chose not to obey
Gods law.
Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which
deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Rev 12:12 Therefore rejoice, [ye] heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the
earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he
knoweth that he hath but a short time. God is not going to allow some one that is still in sin, any
sin in to heaven.
Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect .
