2
1. Background
Jesus Christ was the giver of this revelation (Rev.1:1, Matt. 11:27; John 1:18; 5:19-23; 12:49;
17:8), whereas the Gospels reveal Jesus in His humiliation while Revelation reveals Him in His
glory. The chain of communication was from God the Father to Jesus to an angel to John and to
Christians. And Jesus Christ is the subject and object of this revelation. In Triumph judgment on
righteous rewarded while evil judgment involved hail, fire, blood. This final vision constitutes
the last major unit of the Apocalypse (21:1-22:5). It describes among other things the descent of
the New Jerusalem adorned as a bride for her husband. The emphasis on the renewed fellowship
between God and his people (Rev 21:2-4, 7, 9; 22:3-4) encourages the reader to see in this final
section a reconstitution of the Garden of Eden

2. Similarity of Revelation with the Enoch and Ezra -4-Esdras 2.

Rev.1:17 John’s response to the vision was to fall at the feet of Christ as though dead. Similar
responses are found in Josh 5:14; Ezek 1:28; Dan 8:17; 10:15; Matt 17:6; Acts 26:14; and 1
Enoch 14:14.
In Rev. 1:17, Mounce, p71, and 1 Enoch 14:14, p9, from these fact I can conclude that
everyone shall be bow down when he return.

Rev.3:20, Mounce, p104“And with that Son of Man shall they eat and lie down and rise up for
ever and ever” (I Enoch 62:14).

As I understood the concept of Rev.3:20, Mounce, p104 and I Enoch 62:14, p27, the
righteous people can eat and drink at his table in the kingdom.

Rev.4:8, Mounce, p110, Day and night without ceasing the four living creatures lift their praise
to God. Continuous adoration is a common feature in apocalyptic descriptions of heaven. 1
Enoch 39:12 pictures sleepless angels standing before God and extolling his greatness (cf. T.
Levi 3:8; 2 Enoch 21:1).

The researcher disclosed that in Rev.4:8, Mounce, p110, 1Enoch39:12, p17, and2
Enoch21:1, p 69, all the righteous and dwellers in heaven must give honor and respect
him on the throne.

Rev.5:1, Mounce, p113,” In Jewish apocalyptic we read of “heavenly tablets” that contain “all
the deeds of men ... that will be upon the earth to the remotest generations” (1 Enoch 81:1-2; cf.
also 47:3; 106:19; 107:1)

Enoch described in, Rev.5:1, Mounce, p113, and 1Enoch. (81.1-3, p40, 106.19, 107:1,
p60), everyone’s daily work on earth was written on life book/file. That was from
generation to generation and for all the generation of eternity. The Lord shall sit on

3
throne and open it and Judge on righteous and wicked. And all His Host who dwell in
heavens and his Council was standing in front of Him. The evil work contain from
generation to generation until the righteousness generation shall rise and the wicked
destroyed, then sin shall depart and the righteous shall take place on the earth.

Rev.5:6, Mounce, p115, In 1Enoch 90:9, p49, the Maccabees are symbolized as “horned lambs.”
It is a lamb in the Testament of Joseph that destroys the enemies of Israel (19:8-9).In 1 Enoch
90:37 this military leader is portrayed as a “white bull ... with large horns.”

The researcher disclosed that the stressed under Rev.5:6, Mounce, p115, 1 Enoch 90.9,
p49,and 1Enoch 90:37,p45, are as Maccabees was expected to be a king to redeem
Israelites from their enemies but their enemies destroyed their king. He suggested that
the huge military king should be born and all fear and beg them.

Rev.6:11, Mounce, p125, Apocalyptists spoke of the resurrection bodies of the righteous as
“garments of glory” (1 Enoch 62:16; 2 Enoch 22:8),

As seen in Rev.6:11, Mounce, p125; listed 1 Enoch 62:16; p27 and 2 Enoch 22:8; p70
as Enoch’s spiritual work on earth was accounted in heaven as righteous. Like this
everybody who work spiritual work on earth has blessed and get white Garments from
God.

Rev. 7:1, Mounce, p131, The four winds as destructive agents of God are a regular feature in
apocalyptic. The harmful winds were not those that blew straight from the four quarters (N S E
W) but those that blew diagonally (cf. 1 Enoch 76; cf. 34:3).

Researcher concluded the listed under Rev. 7:1, Mounce, p131; in 1 Enoch 76:4, p37
and 1 Enoch34:3, p15, This four angels are on keeping the earth on west, east, north and
south to prevent from four winds or damages of the land, sea, trees. They hold winds
judgments until the God’s people can be sealed.

Rev.8:8-9, Mounce, p148, 1 Enoch 18:13 speaks of “seven stars like great burning mountains,”
and Sib. Or. 5:158 tells of a “great star from heaven” that fell into the divine sea.

According to Rev.8:8-9, Mounce, p148, and 1 Enoch 18:13, p11, from heaven fire
thrown into the sea. This is punishment and 1/3 of the sea changed into blood and 1/3 of
created being in the sea died.

Rev.8:13, Mounce, p150, In 2 Baruch an eagle is commissioned to fly without tarrying to the
Jews exiled in Babylon and deliver an account of the author’s vision (2 Bar. 77:17-26). 2 Esdras
records a vision of a three-headed eagle with twelve wings that reigned over all the earth (11-12).

4
As listed in Rev.8:13, Mounce, p150, and Esdras 2:11, p9,. These are judgments on earth-
dwellers, and their judgment is partially in response to the prayers of the Tribulation martyrs
(Rev. 6:10).

Rev.9:2, Mounce, p152, According to Enoch the final prison of the fallen angels was the Abyss,
a horrible place with “great descending columns of fire” (1 Enoch 21:7; cf. 18:11).

In Rev.9:2, Mounce, p152, 1Enoch, 21.7, p12 and 1Enoch 18.11, p12, As both saints
visited different punishment places with fire such as smoke usually relates to judgment,
doom, and torment. So that after this Satan’s, wicked, demons, gets place of terribleness.
They saw resembled smoke billowing out of an active volcano/ abyss/

Rev.9: 15, Mounce, p 157, tells that these angels were ready for a specific assignment at a
specific hour in history (cf. 12:6; 16:12; Matt. 25:34, 41; Mark 10:40; Luke 2:31; 1 Cor.2:9).
Their task was to put one-third of those who dwell on the earth to death (cf. 8:13).

In Rev.9: 15, Mounce, p 157 and 1 Enoch 92:2. P52, the task of these angels shall put on
one-third of dwelling on earth to death (cf. 8:13). This will case half of the population
living on earth at the beginning of the Tribulation will die at the end of this judgment.
They are from sinful dwellers (Rev.9:20).

Rev.10:7, Mounce, p165, Mysteries were secrets preserved in heaven and revealed to the
enraptured apocalyptist (1 Enoch 71:3ff. also 40:2; 46:2). Point out as He had revealed His plans
for the future kingdom to His servants the prophets in former times, but only partially (cf. Heb.
1:1-2).

As described in Rev.10:7, Mounce, p165, 1 Enoch 71:3ff. p32, 1Enoch 40:2; p19 and
1Enoch 46:2, p19, when the seventh (trumpet) angel spoke God would fully reveal His
mystery. Then He was make to known. Specifically the kingdom of the world becomes the
kingdom of Christ (11:15). He shall be revealed His plans for the future kingdom to His
servants. (Heb. 1:1-2).

Rev.12:1-2, Mounce, p180, Zion as the mother of the people of God is a common theme in
Jewish writings (Isa 54:1; 2 Esdr 10:7; cf. Gal 4:26).

As shown in Rev.12:1-2, Mounce, p180, and 2 Esdr 10:7, p57, the "woman" indicts to the
nation of Israel. She gave birth to Christ. Israel's pain before Jesus Christ's appearing at
His first coming. She will be persecuted during the Tribulation.
Rev.12:7. Mounce, p184, whereupon, according to Enoch, he was cast out of heaven with his
angels and flies continuously in the air (2 Enoch 29:4).

5
The researcher assume that as in listed in Rev.12:7. Mounce, p184, and 2 Enoch 29:4,
p72 as Michael battled with Satan in the past (Jude 9), again the conflict here takes
place just before the last part of the Tribulation.

Rev.12:10, Mounce, p185, the sovereign rule of God becomes a present reality in that “the
accuser of our brothers ... has been hurled down.” Satan’s role as the greater accuser, as we have
seen, finds classic expression in the book of Job (1:6-12; 2:1-5; cf. 1 Enoch 40:7).

According to in Rev.12:10, Mounce, p185, and 1 Enoch 40:7, p18 are stated that Satan
will continue to persecute the living brothers of the martyrs still on earth but he can not
longer accuse them in heaven.

Rev.13:11. Mounce, p195, Ancient tradition spoke of two primeval monsters, which inhabited
the ocean depths and the dry land. According to 1 Enoch 60:7-10 Leviathan (a female monster)
lived “in the abysses of the ocean,” and Behemoth (the male) occupied a “waste wilderness
named Duidain.

Based on the given sentences under Rev.13:11. Mounce, p195, and 1 Enoch 60:7-10,
p24, disclosed that the first beast is interpreted as an individual and the second beast is
interpreted as native political and economic authorities. And the sea represents the
abyss, the earth represents Palestine. The first beast is a servant of the dragon and
strong worldwide, but the second beast native weak.
Rev.14:9-10, Mounce, p207, The book of Enoch speaks of the kings of the earth burning “as the
straw in the fire ... before the face of the holy” (1 Enoch 48:9; also 27:2, 3; cf. 2 Bar. 30:4).

As listed in Rev.14:9-10, Mounce, p207, 1 Enoch 48:9, p21, and 1 Enoch 27:2, 3, p14,
are given warning for the beast-worshippers shall get final Torment, they will be in the
lake of fire removed from the presence of the holy angels and the Lamb.

Rev.14:20, Mounce, p212, The judgment of the nations in Joel 3:12-14 takes place in the valley
of Jehoshaphat, which tradition links with the Kidron valley lying between Jerusalem and the
Mount of Olives. Zech 14:1-4 places the final battle on the outskirts of Jerusalem. 1 Enoch 53:1
speaks of judgment in a deep valley near the valley of Hinnom.

According to Rev.14:20, Mounce, p212, and 1 Enoch 53:1, p22, shall be on going the
battle of Armageddon; (19:17- 19). The God will put vast numbers of people to death
(Isa. 63:1-6). The blood will drain out of the Jezreel Valley for a distance of 200 miles,

6
probably eastward down the Harod Valley to the Jordan Valley and south into the Dead
Sea.

Rev.16:14, Mounce, p223, Israel believed that in the last days her enemies would gather to war
against her (Ezek 38-39; Zech 14; 1 Enoch 56:5-8; 90:13-19),

Based on Rev.16:14, Mounce, p223, 1 Enoch 56:5-8; p23, and 1Enoch 90:13-19, p49,
shall be summarized as the demons deceive the earth kings to assemble their well-
trained armies in Palestine for the battle of Armageddon by the influence of Satan, the
beast, and the false prophet. The demons persuade them and keep their secret (17:17).
These kings from all over the world will gather to destroy Israel (cf. Ps. 2:1-3; Zech.
14:2-3). Satan's purpose in bringing all these soldiers into Palestine to annihilate the
Jews. When Jesus Christ returns to earth, specifically to the Mount of Olives (Zech. 14:1-
4), they will unite in opposing Him. But God can control the Satan’s activities
(Zech.14:2). This will not be the day of Satan's triumph but that of the Lord God
Almighty. He will show His supreme in this climactic battle (Joel2:31).
Here the researcher believe in the commentators’ wide explanation about the battle of
Armageddon which is pre-known by God.

Rev, 16:20, Mounce, p226, .But the references are probably general in nature and represent the
devastating effects of the tremendously violent earthquake. Similar indications of the end are
found in As. Mos. 10:4 and I Enoch 1:6, In Rev 20:11, Mounce,p274, the earth and sky flee away
before the presence of the one who sits upon the great white throne.

According to Rev, 16:20, Mounce, p226, and I Enoch 1:6, p4, disclosed as that these
changes will be happened the final disappearance of the old creation by the new
creation earth (cf. 20:11; 21:1-2). The function of Messiah’s plane.

Rev. 17:10.Mounce, p234, For John seven is the number of completeness. Five kings have fallen,
one is, and the last one remains for only a short time. In other apocalyptic writings the number of
ages or world periods conforms to different numerical schemes. In 2 Esdr 14:11 history is
divided into twelve parts, of which 9½ (or 10½) have already passed. In the Apocalypse of
Weeks, Enoch divides history into ten periods, seven of which are already past (I Enoch 93), and
three yet future that lead to eternal judgment (1 Enoch 91:12-17).

Based on Rev. 17:10.Mounce, p234, 2 Esdr 14:11, p77, and I Enoch 91:12-17,
p51, the five most prominent world powers preceding Rome that had fallen are
probably Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, and Greece. The OT Babylonian
Empire may have been the first (Gen. 10:8-10). The seventh kingdom that was yet

7
to come and would remain a little while is the beast's kingdom (13:3; 17:8). All of
these kingdoms have persecuted or will persecute God's people (Isa. 21:9; Jer. 50
—51; Dan.10:13).
What was explained about the story procedures shall be for future and pre-known
by God.

Rev.17; 14.Mounce, p236, In I Enoch 9:4 the Most High is named “Lord of lords, God of gods,
King of kings, and God of the ages.

As stated in Rev.17; 14.Mounce, p236,and in 1 Enoch 98:12, p55,The believers

who accompany Christ from heaven will be Christians and saints who died
during the Tribulation ./ they are the faithful, chosen for salvation, elected by the
Father ( Eph. 1:4-5) and respond to God's grace by faithfully.

Rev.19: 9.Mounce, p257, the concept of a sacred meal shared by Israel and the Messiah is
common in Jewish thought. According to 3 Enoch 48:10 this banquet takes place in Jerusalem.

The researcher accepted the Rev.19: 9, Mounce, p257, and 3 Enoch 48:10, p115,
the Lamb's marriage supper include His friends as well as the bride (cf. 3:20).
This implies the presence of other believers besides church saints at this
celebration. The invitation to the supper will include the bride and other believers
who are not members of the church. And other believers who were martyrs in
Tribulation, believers and will live through the Tribulation and enter the
Millennium alive (12:13-17; 20:4-5; Matt. 22:11-14). But nations of the world
will not participant with them.

Rev.19: 16, Mounce, p262. the title, as it occurs here and elsewhere in Scripture (Rev 17:14; 1
Tim 6:15; Dan 2:47), goes back to Moses’ declaration to Israel, “For the LORD your God is God
of gods and Lord of lords” (Deut 10:17; cf. 1 Enoch 9:4).

The researcher sum up Rev.19: 16, Mounce, p262.and 1 Enoch 9:4, p6, People
living on earth at the time of the Second Coming will see Jesus Christ return
(Matt. 24:30). Similar concept.

Rev.19:20. Mounce, p264, It is into a fiery lake of burning sulfur that the beast and false prophet
are thrown. This designation for the place of final torment occurs only in Revelation, although
the idea of punishment by fire is prominent in the extra biblical Jewish writings. 1 Enoch 54:1
speaks of the place of judgment as “a deep valley with burning fire,” and in 2 Enoch 10 it is
described as a place of terror with all manner of tortures including a fiery river.

8
The researcher sum up the listed Rev.19:20. Mounce, p264, and 1 Enoch 54:1,
p21 Christ will cast all unbelievers into the lake of fire (20:14-15). God originally
prepared the lake of fire for Satan and his angels (Matt. 25:41).

Rev. 20: 9. Mounce, p273, the nations that have been gathered by Satan surround the millennial
capital and are devoured by fire from heaven. 2 Esdras, a contemporary Jewish apocalypse,
contains a vision that is remarkably parallel. An innumerable multitude of soldiers gather to
make war on the Man from the sea. Although seized with fear they dare to fight, and are burned
to ashes by a fiery stream that suddenly flows from the mouth of the Messiah (2 Esdr 13:1-12).

According to Rev. 20: 9. Mounce, p273, and 2 Esdr 13:1-12, p71, stated the rebels will
occupy Palestine (Ezek. 38:9, 11-12). This probably refers to the Plain of Jezreel in
northern Israel (Ezek. 11-16). However his second coming, location/ plain may not be
exactly identifiable now. The rebels will also surround the dwelling place of believers,
even the earthly city of Jerusalem. This city will be Christ's capital during the
Millennium (Jer. 3:17; Isa. 24:23; Mic. 4:7; Zech. 14:9-11), the center of the world
(Ezek. 38:12). God will destroy the rebels with fire from heaven (Gen. 19:24; Lev. 10:2;
2 Kings 1:10, 12; Luke 9:54). John described the destiny of these mortal rebels. So the
same concept.

Rev.22; 2. Mounce, p289, the tree of life was a regular feature in Jewish portrayals of Paradise
(cf. 2 Esdr 8:52; 2 Enoch 8:3-4).
As stated in Rev.22; 2. Mounce, p289, 2 Esdr 8:52; 2, p51, and 2 Enoch 8:3-4, p65, the tree
of life in the Garden of Eden could perpetuate life forever (Gen. 3:22, 24). The tree of life as
a regular experience of fellowshipping with God, i.e., eating of this monthly fruit. That will
be the function of this tree in the new earth as well, to sustain immortality.

3. The Comparing Revelation with Ezra-4-ESDRAS 2 and 1 Enoch 37-71.

Rev.10:4, Mounce, p163, in any case a voice from heaven would be a voice of authority
(cf. 2 Esdr 6:17).
.

9
As seen in Rev.10:4, Mounce, p163 and 2ESDRAS 6:17, p121, God did not
permit John to record the seven thunders revealed judgments (2 Cor. 12:1-4).
This indicates that God has not revealed in Scripture all the judgments that will
take place on the earth during the Great Tribulation. But Enoch capable to stand
alone after he heard the voice of God. This is the gap in between them

Rev.19:12, Mounce, p260. This could account for the refusal of the divine visitors in Gen
32:29 and Judg. 13:18 to identify themselves (I Enoch 69:14; p31; Isa. 9:5).

As mentioned in Rev.19:12, Mounce, p260, and I Enoch 69:14, p31, Jesus

Christ's judgment on sin takes into account (1:14; 2:18). His many (12:3; 13:1)
symbolize His right to rule the world as King of kings. His unknown name was
not known to John until Jesus Christ returns (Rev. 2:17; Gen. 32:29; Judg.
13:18; Matt. 11:27). He is supreme. His name is known only to Himself.
However, the Holy Michael told to Enoch His secret name and he cannot speak
until the date. So that, there is a gap in between of the two books.

Rev.19: 14, Mounce, p261 The conquering Messiah commands a heavenly army clothed in fine
linen and mounted, like their leader, on white horses. Normally, one would think of a heavenly
army as composed of angels (cf. Matt 26:53; 2 Enoch 17; T. Levi 3:3; Zech 14:5), but the parallel
in Rev 17:14 in which those who battle on the Lamb’s side are designated “called, chosen and
faithful” would indicate that the martyrs should be included as well.

Based on Rev.19: 14, Mounce, p261, and 2 Enoch 17, p10-11, Angels will accompany
Jesus Christ at His second coming (Matt. 13:41; Mark 8:38; Luke 9:26; 2 Thess. 1:7),
but they are the persons on horses. Rather these seem to be human beings (Rev.17:14;
21:2-7; Zech. 14:5). Their dress connects with the Lamb's bride (v. 8).
This heavenly army, unlike their leader, has no swords or spears. They take no part in
the action. They wear no armor because, being immortal, they are immune to injury.
They are noncombatant supporters of the Messiah as He wages the war single-handedly.
This indicates that when Jesus arrested date the apostles runaway except John the
apostle. So that it is different concepts.

Rev.20:4.Mounce, p270, In Enoch’s Apocalypse of Weeks human history takes place in seven
weeks, followed by the messianic kingdom established in the eighth and lasting through the tenth
week (I Enoch 93; 91:12-17). In 2 Esdr 7:28 it is definitely set at four hundred years . In Slavonic
Enoch the world is to last seven days of one thousand years each, followed by an eighth day with
time divisions (2 Enoch 32:2- 33:2).

10
As I understood the listed in Rev.20:4.Mounce, p270, I Enoch 93;p51, 1-14, 2 Esdr 7:28,
p36, and Enoch 32:2- 33:2, p15, The purpose of the thrones that John saw was twofold:
ruling and judging ( Dan. 7:9-10, 22; Matt. 19:28). As sitting wit them are probably the
faithful saints who have returned with Christ to the earth (19:7-8, 14, 19; 2:26-28; 3:12,
21). May be they are 24 elders’ representatives of the church, Tribulation saints, or the
apostles and perhaps some other saints. They receive authority from God to take charge
of the earth, the beast's domain, under Christ's rule. He visited different places with
guiders Angel Zotiel and Holy Raphiel. They showed him concerning righteousness,
chosen of the world, and the division of weeks, stars, and heaven. He taught his
descendants on earth, the Tree of Wisdom, his ancient father and mother ate and learnt
wisdom and driven, visited over mountains, places of fragrances trees, over Red sea and
etc.
Here the researchers commented that Enoch visited over Red Sea mountains area on
both banks of Red Sea is only Ethiopia. The Garden of Eden might be Ethiopia. So that
both concepts are different meaning.

Rev. 21:1, Mounce, p278, the renovation of the old order is a concept that belongs to the
common stock of apocalyptic tradition. In I Enoch 45:4-5 the heaven and earth are to be
transformed as a place for the elect (72:1; 91:16). 2Esdras 7:75 speaks of a future time when God
shall “renew the creation” (cf. 2 Bar. 32:6).
Based on Rev. 21:1, Mounce, p278, I Enoch 45:4-5, p19, 1Enoch72:1, p33, 1Enoch
91:16, p51 and 2Esdras 7:75, p40, are summarized as transformation of heaven to be an
Eternal Blessing and Light. Again to transform dry land to be blessed and dwelling of the
Chosen One. Holy angel Uriel told that every change happened by Lord’s schedule. Also
first heaven shall be replaced by a New Heaven and shine forever. So everything shall be
renewed on the date of renewing creation. Therefore, in every verses stated was different
points.

Rev. 21:2,Mounce, p279, the New Jerusalem is more than the old rebuilt. When “the city that
now is invisible shall be appear” (2 Esdr 7:26), it will be constructed according to a heavenly
pattern (2 Esdr 10:49).

In Rev. 21:2, Mounce, p279, and 2 Esdr 7:26, p35, what he said shall be happened on
his time and the new bride Lord’s wife also. The first earth replaced by a new. And God
told him to teach more. Different concepts.

Rev.21:5.Mounce, p280, the renovation of the universe was a familiar concept in apocalyptic
literature. Jub. 1:29 spoke of a “new creation when the heavens and the earth shall be renewed”
(cf. 1Enoch 91:16; 2 Bar. 57:2; 44:12; 2 Esdr 7:75; etc.).

11
In Rev.21:5.Mounce, p280, 1Enoch 91:16, p51, first Heaven shall be replaced by a New
Heaven and shine forever while the resurrected get the judgment either righteousness or
punishment. Different ideas.
