Some words are more than one part of speech. For example, cook is both a verb and a noun.
The Verb
A verb is a word that describes an action, state or occurrence. Here are some basic forms of the verb
walk.
The Noun
Nouns are words that are used to identify things, people and places.
He is a teacher.
She lives in London.
Did you see that boat?
Love is all you need.
The Pronoun
The Adjective
The Adverb
A word or phrase that modifies the meaning of an adjective, verb, or other adverb.
The Preposition
Prepositions show us the relationship between a noun and another word in a sentence.
We lived in France.
Your keys are on the table.
We walked through the park.
The Conjunction
The Interjection
We use interjections to show strong emotions and feelings that occur suddenly.
Hey! You are standing on my foot!
Ah, now I understand.
Eh? What did she say?
