Flip Grid History

A lot has happened in Canada’s

history, even before it was an
actual country! We need your help
to fill in a timeline of all these
highlights.

For this project you will be picking

an important event or person from
Canadian history to research and
present your learning on.

Part 2: Question Brainstorm and Research

Begin brainstorming questions you have in the Flip Grid History Research template.
Remember to add to this list of questions as you go and not every question has to
be answered! You will need to copy the links you used to get your information and
put them on your research page! There is a research link page with some websites
if you need help getting started.

Here are some important questions to think about while you research:
1) What happened? (event) OR Who are they? (person)
2) Why is this event/person important?
3) What impact did this highlight have on Canada?
4) What caused it and what happened after it? (event) OR How are they an
agent of change? (person)
5) Are the websites I am using trustworthy?
6) Am I using more than 2 websites in my research?

Part 3: Write Up
Based on the research you came up with you will need to complete a write up on
the event/person. The write up should include why you chose the historical
highlight, what you learned, why it is important and the impact it had on Canada. It
should be at least 1 page in length and organized in proper paragraphs.

Part 4: Flip Grid Video

You will be presenting the most important information about your event/person in
a Flip Grid video. You only have 3 minutes so you will need to practice, time
yourself and decide what is the most important information people need to know.

Part 5: Watch and Learn!

You will be given the opportunity to watch other videos on events/people you
didn’t learn about to help you learn more about Canada’s highlights in history! You
will peer assess 2 of your classmates videos for Ms. Pugh and leave a comment on
what they did well in their videos.
