WEEK 1 Activity: Microorganism and Microbiology

 If Microbial life had not evolved, would you be here today? Why or why not.

If microbial life had not evolved, life would not exist and also it cannot be sustained. Why is that?
Because microorganisms such as, bacteria, archaea, fungi, protozoa and viruses plays a vital role in life,
some might be harmful but most are fundamentally crucial in the existence of life. They have an
intimate relationship with all life forms including humans, plants and animals, they are interdependent
on each other. Microorganisms play crucial roles in digesting food, decomposing waste and recycling of
key nutrients as in Nitrogen cycle. For instance, one useful bacteria Probiotics, which are found in
human intestine and prove to be very useful. It balances our good and bad intestinal bacteria, also aid in
digestion of food and help in digestion problem like diarrhea. Therefore, we can now see the importance
of Microbial life and its effects towards the existence of life on earth.
