Materials

The choice of the material and the determination of the quality certificates are made by the manufacturer,
provided the customer does not provide any information. Materials must be specified in the offer. Only welded
materials may be used for welded tanks and apparatus, this also applies to welded parts. The choice of
materials can, for. B. can be made using the AD-2000 leaflets of the W series.

5
The filler metals must be adapted to the base material and suitable for a perfect weld connection (eg
according to VdTÜV bulletins). The chemical resistance of the weld seam must at least correspond to that of
the starting material.

Rating

The container and apparatus are to be dimensioned by the manufacturer so that they can withstand the
operating and testing requirements. If the customer requests a calculation, the calculation process and the
calculation process must be clearly visible from the submitted documents. Underlying literature must be
specified (e.g. AD-2000 leaflets). The effect of external and internal forces, e.g. B. from pipelines, agitators,
stages and ladders. For containers standing outdoors, the wind and snow loads must be taken into account.
Additional forces that can occur during transport or assembly must also be taken into account. Other forces
that arise z. B. result from the type of execution, must be specified by the customer.

Drawings and parts lists

If drawings and parts lists are requested by the customer, the drawings must comply with the execution rules
for technical drawings according to DIN ISO 6428. DIN 406-10 and DIN 406-11 apply to entries. On the
drawing, for. For example: materials, welding processes and filler metals, operating data, weight, tolerances,
surface properties, heat treatment, scope of testing and surface protection.

Manufacturing

welding

Unless otherwise agreed, the manufacturer selects the welding process. The welding personnel must be able
to carry out the welds properly. If an assessment of the weld seams is required, it is carried out in accordance
with DIN EN ISO 5817. The application and removal of the tack seams for assembly aids may only be carried
out in such a way that the base material is not damaged.

surface protection

The type and design of the surface protection, e.g. B. pickling, coating, painting or lining, must be agreed
when ordering.

Tolerances, limit dimensions

If no other tolerances or limit dimensions are agreed, they must be selected according to the following
standards:

Container DIN 28005-1 and DIN 28005-2;

stirred tank DIN 28006-1 and DIN 28006-2;
columns DIN 28007-1 and DIN 28007-2;
Shell and tube heat exchangers DIN 28008;

Welded constructions DIN EN ISO

13920.

Dimensional reference lines, such as B. the reference lines should be visible and accessible for measurement
after completion.
4 Design rules

Main flanges

For main flanges on containers and apparatus, DIN 28030-1 should preferably be used, whereby the
dimensions according to DIN EN 1092-1 can be used up to DN 500.

Support

The standards DIN 28025 or DIN 28115 may be used for the execution of nozzles. Flanges are to be
designed according to DIN EN 1092-1. Special versions are to be agreed between the purchaser and the
manufacturer.

Closures

Manhole closures may be in accordance with DIN 28124-1, DIN 28124-2 and DIN 28124-3, and swivel
devices may be in accordance with DIN 28124-4. The construction according to DIN 28125-1 and DIN 28125-
3 may be used for round hinged closures, DIN 28125-2 may be used for oval hinged closures.

Support elements

Supporting elements are to be designed according to the

following standards: Saddles for horizontal apparatus

DIN 28080;

Container DIN 28081-1 and DIN 28081-2;

feet stand DIN 28082-1 and DIN 28082-2;

frames DIN 28083-1;

Carrier DIN 28084-2 and DIN 28084-3.

brackets
Transport and assembly elements

Transport and assembly elements must be designed according to the following standards:

Carrying lugs DIN 28085-1;

Carrying lugs DIN 28086;

Welds DIN 28087.

DIN 8562 and DIN EN 1708-1 are to be used for the welding principles and for the design of weld seams. The
number and length of the weld seams must be reduced to a minimum.

surface protection

When coating and lining containers with organic materials to protect industrial systems against corrosion from
aggressive media, DIN EN 14879-1 must be observed.

7
5 exam

After completion, containers and equipment must be checked for leaks before applying the outer surface
protection. The test method, the test medium and the test pressure are to be agreed between the purchaser
and the manufacturer. All defects found during an inspection must be remedied. Afterwards the corresponding
tests have to be repeated.

6 Labelling
Containers and apparatus are given a factory label with at least the following information:

— Name of the producer;

— Manufacturer number or type number;

— Year of manufacture;

- maximum allowable pressure;

— permissible maximum temperature;

— Volume, in I or m3.

7 documentation

Containers and apparatus must be delivered with at least the following documents:

— Drawings and parts lists;

— Manufacturer's certificate of correct design, manufacture and testing.

In addition, material test certificates according to DIN EN 10204 can be requested by agreement between the
purchaser and manufacturer.

8 transport
In order to prevent damage during transport, the manufacturer may have to take precautions for transport.
