Necessary Check
 Pump installation on engine
 according to RB recommendation (MPROP, overflow valve)*;
 deflating hole in flange not occluded*;
 the pump shall not be mounted close to heavy heat sources (exhaust,
dynamic compressors…); the heat transfer from the engine to the pump has
to be avoided;
 suggestion: ensure easy pump mounting/dismounting for service.

 Transmission layout: no axial forces allowed

 Bearing load calculation (preliminary check)

Pump Mounting on Engine

 The pump shall cautiously be removed from the packaging. It must not be handled on weak elements (Low
pressure and high pressure fittings, MPROP). During handling the pump shall only be hold on the pump
housing.

 All safety caps must remain on the pump until the specific counter-part is mounted.

 Before mounting on the engine, the safety cap of the pump shaft needs to be removed, the driving-wheel must
be mounted on the shaft end axle. The torque of the screw-nut is defined in the pump offer drawing.

 The torque of the fixing screws (pump to engine) has to be chosen in accordance to the pump offer drawing. It
is recommended to tighten the 3 screws at the same time or pre-assembly the screws one by one with a small
torque, then screw to the final torque value.

 After the pump has been mounted on the engine the safety caps can be removed from the low pressure
connectors just before the low pressure pipes are mounted.

 Mounting of the high pressure pipe: shortly before mounting the safety caps of the high pressure connector will
be removed. The torque is according to the offer drawing. The pipe needs to be mounted tension-free (the
pipe end axis has to be aligned with high pressure connectors axis).

 No "dry-run" of the pump is allowed. Before running the pump must be filled with ≈ 60 ml fuel and air in the
low pressure circuit has to be removed.

 After mechanical mounting, the electric connections can be connected.

Pump Dismounting from Engine

 After a pipe is disassembled the corresponding plugs shall be
immediately closed again with the safety cap.
 During disassembly the high pressure connector shall be held in position
with a tool (in order to avoid an un-tightening of the high pressure
connector from the pump).

Remarks:
 In case of a pump malfunction during mounting or during operation, the

pump must not be opened.
