This report covers the structural design of a Rcc Frame Structure located at Lalitpur Municipality,

following NBC 110:1994, IS:875(Part 1)-1987, IS:875(Part 2)-1987, IS 456:2000, IS 1893:2002, IS

13920: 1993, SP 34: 1987, IS 808: 1989, IS 800: 2007 and SP 16: 1980. The framing arrangement and
column locations of the building were provided based on architectural drawing and structural
requirements. The structure system of this building is a RCC frame structure. This report covers the
design process in the following order: the calculation of the expected loads on the structure, the
estimation of the column sizes, estimation of beam sizes, seismic analysis, footing, staircase. The
details of the design can be found within the report.

Through numerous data obtained from the analysis software and sorting, best possible combinations
and the best value obtained for design was implemented. The analysis software used was ETABS
v16.2 which is well known to give much economical design compared to other software. The design
values obtained from the software at times proved to be un-economical due to which the design
procedure had to be done in much rigorous way by sorting and filtering the data for best possible
combination of forces for most economical and safe outcome. The seismic analysis was done as a
very integral part of structural design of the building components. Static method of analysis was
used for seismic behaviour of the building. Economic design considerations are made under seismic
actions of the building and proper ductility requirements are fulfilled to ensure non-collapsible
feature of the building
