Hi and welcome!

  :D

(1) My name is Elia and I’m a Senior UX Designer for Voxnest,

leading company in the podcasting industry. I’ve 6 years of
experience during which I’ve been doing the most different
things: I’ve worked with a huge variety of different clients, I’ve
been writing about UX, teaching UX and UI and I’ve eventually
been appointed Academic director of a tech bootcamp in
London! This has allowed me to get an in depth understanding
of the key MUST HAVE to become amazing professionals

(2) Designing a digital product, it is never too early to start

collecting feedback from prospect users, team mates, friends
and family: it is the best way to avoid the risk of looking at your
product with any personal bias, building an emotional affection
to it, and to become able of spotting issues on the go. The most
complicated thing about it is finding a way to ignite these
conversations without affecting your budget, investing too many
hours of work and rework, or losing your sight fixing details for
hours in front of your laptop. What is really fun, instead, is to be
able to test your ideas basing your decision making on quick,
easy and fun to build sketches: with the right approach, you’ll be
able to condense meaningful and complex experiences,
transitions and interfaces with minimum elements. By the end of
this class, you will be able to quickly prototype your websites or
apps, quickly and effectively through the use of simple sketches.
You’ll even learn how to make those sketches come to life and
become a real clickable prototype enhancing the power of
Marvel, a super user friendly software that you’ll be able to learn
in the blink of an eye.

(3) I’ve imagined this class as an accessible guide I would have

loved to have at hand as a Design graduate / Junior UX
Designer, a few years ago: if you are moving your first steps in
the design process, you’ll definitely have a blast working on this
class project! However, should you be a more advanced UX
Designer, you’ll have the chance to brush up your skills, learn a
couple of tricks and have fun in the process! To succeed in this
class you will need:

- Your favourite drawing gears (some basic pen, pencil and
markers will do)

-The provided mobile printable template (or any piece of paper,
sketchbook, or post-it)

- The Marvel app (https://marvelapp.com/), with a free basic
account

-Your curiosity and enthusiasm!

(4) Rapid prototyping will allow you to effectively collaborate with

your team, to collect feedback on the go, iterate and implement
your ideas live, quickly and with pretty much zero budget!

Plus, you’ll become able to nurture the relationship with your
target users, understand their needs, blockers and desiderata!

Moreover, you’ll learn essentially how to visualise and simplify
complex concepts and this is definitely one of those nice-to-
have skills that apply to many other scenarios: not for nothing,
we call it “The gift of synthesis”.

(5) How are we gonna learn this skills? Of course by working on a

super fun practical project! In fact, by the end of this class,
you’ll be able to share a clickable low-fi prototype of your
favourite app! During the time we are gonna spend together, we
will learn how to create rapid prototypes of our digital products:
practically speaking, we’ll discover how to do it reverse
engineering some pre-existing apps that we’ll deconstruct,
synthesize and translate into a sketched paper prototype.

We’ll do it together and for the occasion I’ll reverse engineer the
Skillshare app: at the same time, you’ll have the possibility to
explore and analyze your favorite app or website! Before you
even realise it, you’ll be mastering this super fun (and useful)
process and you’ll be able to use it in your daily practice!

As you work on your shareable clickable prototype, to assist you
in the process, you’ll be able to count on different support
resources including: printable templates, sample files and
examples, active feedback from me and the community.

Finally, to make the best out of this experience, I warmly
encourage you to create a project in the Projects and
Resources section and to share every step of your work!

(6) So, if you wanna learn the tricks and recommendations I’ve
collected during my many years of experience, enhance your
workflow and become the master of rapid prototyping, just click
play and I’ll see you in the Discussion box!
