PART I: ENUMERATION (10 pts.)
Enumerate answers that are asked for the following items.

1 - 5. what are the steps in determining and solving for the z and t– tests?
6 - 7. what are the assumptions of t test and z test?
8 – 10. Give at least three statistical tests or tools.

PART II: WORD PROBLEM (40 pts.)


Answer the questions legibly and accurately. Consider the steps in solving the word problem.
Here, you will need a calculator, a clean sheet of paper/s, tables of critical values and a pen. No
calculator and tables of critical values mean 10 points deduction from your raw score.
Read carefully and analyze the following problems carefully.

T– test:
A candy factory claims that the average production they have is 300 candies an hour. A
random sample of 15 workers have been experimented and it shows that their average
production is 250 an hour. At a level of significance of 0.05, can it be concluded that their
average production is greater than their claims? Assume that the SD is 28.8.

Z – test:
A researcher claims that the average cost of a luxury coat is less than $80. The
researcher then selects a sample of 36 luxury coats from the store and finds the following
sample average cost is $ 75. Is there enough evidence to support the researcher’s claim at level
of significance is 0.10? Assume the standard deviation is 19.2.
