Topic: Parents should have no control over the lives of their children once they turn 16.

OUTLINE

Thesis statement: Although there may be mixed opinions about this issue, in my personal belief,
parents should permit their children to control their lives once they are over the age of 16.
Reason 1: Children have fully developed in physical health.
- Due to puberty.
- Changes in appearance.
- Having the ability to protect themselves.

Reason 2: Children have changes in psychology.
- Changes in their thoughts.
- Complex psychology that parents could not understand.
- Being more sensitive. -> parents should not intervene much.

Reason 3: Children want to define themselves.
- Feeling of being adults.
- Strange behaviour.
- Not wanting to be controlled.

Reason 4: Children have the right to live their lives.
- It is stated in law.
- Many psychologists believe that.

Counter argument: Controlling children leads them to success.
- Parents want their children to live good lives.
- It is said that successful children have their parents expect highly on them and manage
them toward that goal. [an outside source]
- Which means parents control their children in some ways to make them succeed.
- It is partly correct.
- However, those expectations and management of parents could possibly make their
children stressed -> suicide – due to statistics… [an outside source]
