BlueSuite Pro software release 2.05

Key new features relative to the 1.00 software release

1. 16 times over-sampling used for all trace displays
2. Automated power control measurement with graphical display of result
3. Automated measurement of audio frequency response and distortion
(requires an additional Keithley audio generator/analyzer)
4. Automated receiver sensitivity search on all 79 Bluetooth channels
5. Test mode signalling protocol tester
6. Improved script results screens (BlueTest style)
7. Audio SCO Control added to Bluetooth Protocol Control window

Known issues when operating 2.05 software

1. If the MT885XA is already in a link with an EUT and you open the test mode signalling protocol
control window, the MT885XA will display a “No remote features (0xc)” error message.
This is because the Bluetooth specification does not allow the supported features field to be read
once a link is in test mode. This error message can be ignored and has no detrimental effect on the
use of the BlueSuite software or the MT885XA.
2. The following applies when using BlueSuite Pro 2.02 or later with an MT8850A with software 1.22
or lower, or an MT8852A with software 2.00 or lower.
Occasionally, following the viewing of packet traces, when sending a new test control to an EUT
using the test mode signalling protocol control window, an error message “No valid password”
will appear. This error message can be ignored and has no detrimental effect on the use of the
BlueSuite software or the MT885XA. Press OK to cancel the error message whenever it occurs.

16 times over-sampling used for all trace displays
With release 2.05, all packet traces are all displayed using 16 times over-sampling. As a result all
images are much smoother and provide a truer representation of the actual packet.

Automated power control measurement with graphical display of result

The release 2.05 provides a graphical display of an EUT stepping its power up and down. This provides
a fast and simple way of evaluating the performance of an EUT under power control.

Automated measurement of audio frequency response and distortion
(requires an additional Keithley audio generator/analyzer)
BlueSuite Pro 2.05 can take GPIB control of a Keithley 2015 integrated audio signal generator and
analyzer. By controlling the Keithley 2015 as well as the MT8852A, BlueSuite Pro automates audio
measurements of frequency response and distortion. Results are displayed in a graphical format.

Automated receiver sensitivity search on all 79 Bluetooth channels

BlueSuite Pro 2.05 provides an automatic measurement of sensitivity search on each channel plotted
graphically.

Improved script results screens (BlueTest style)

When running a script, the release 2.05 software can now read and display all the test results, including
power control and extended results. results can be viewed in a single window like BlueTest and saved
in a file for later analysis.

Test mode signalling protocol tester
A feature in BlueSuite Pro 2.05 enables the connection to an EUT from the MT885XA in a step by step
manner. This facilitates debugging of faults in the EUT software that cause failures of the basic
connection with an MT885XA.
A powerful additional feature is the ability to send individual test control messages to the EUT and get
conformation that the EUT has received them and correctly handled them. Again this can be used as a
debug tool for developers who have an incomplete implementation of the Test Control signalling.

Select the settings required and send them to the EUT using the apply button.

Audio SCO Control added to Bluetooth Protocol Control window
A new feature in BlueSuite Pro 2.05 enables an Audio (SCO) connection to an EUT.
The facility requires a MT8852A and a EUT the supports SCO connections.

Select the settings required and send them to the EUT using the Send Audio Configuration button.
