“Health care is a right, not a privilege”, the words Edward Kennedy said still bothers me.

In this evolving
world, health care has become only for the rich. With the rising cost for health care, also due to our
current situation of pandemic, it is difficult to be sick. The Health Care system here in the Philippines
keeps getting worse. It is even worse for the poor people who live in the slums or squatter areas. How
do we address this kind of matter? How do we create a solution for this? We need to implement
strategies and tactics to address growth of medical and pharmaceutical costs and impacts to access and
quality of care. We also need to outreach our indigenous tribes, to also strengthen their healthcare and
to assure that our tribes maintains a healthy living. A sustainable healthcare system is achieved by
delivering high quality care and improved public health without exhausting natural resources or causing
severe ecological damage. Development of new medical technologies challenges the sustainability of
healthcare systems. The new normal in healthcare will be online. I think consultations made online will
be, of course safe, but also will not be as accurate as in-person consultations. Web and mobile
applications are available nowadays, but we need to also improve the rendering of their services. It is
important we encourage everyone to take healthcare seriously. We do not need to self-medicate. A
strong data collection and management system for health care is must. We must invest in data
management and collection. This way, administrative and medical professionals have immediate access
to accurate numbers, and it will be easy to assess the needs of the people. Lastly is we invest on a
device, a wearable device that stores and tracks our health and well-being. Our data will be private, but
when we are sick and admitted to a facility, our data will be easily accessed by our medical
professionals. This way, our history will easily be tracked. [2] Mainly everyone will be a beneficiary. It is
very important that we also reach out to the poor. This device will much likely to be produced but is
difficult to find sponsors and/or producers. This device will need more revisions and must be planned
well before production. This would be very hard to create, but I know this will be very helpful in the near
future. This will be of great help with regards to contact-tracing, particularly amid a contagious disease
spreading.
