SYMPTOMS

Using Demand Management / Demand Plan

While attempting to set a Default Product Hierarchy,
the following error occurs:

ERROR

You must select a hierarchy with a number of levels that is greater than or equal to 3, which is the number of levels in the
predefined Product hierarchy. (MSC-2805785)

-- Steps To Reproduce:

Customer states the issue can be reproduced at will at customer site with the following steps:
1. Configure Planning Analytics
2. Default Catalog: Details
3. Observe the noted error

CAUSE

The problem of Default Product Hierarchy selection failing with error MSC-2805785 is known to have been caused by using a
catalog that was controlled at the inventory org level
because creating a catalog that was controlled at the master org level, and setting a proper Default Product Hierarchy resolved
the issue.

SOLUTION

Create a catalog that is controlled at the master org level,

and set a proper Default Product Hierarchy.
