Making of an Indian Economy

Territory as defined by the Oxford Dictionary is ‘land that is under the control of a particular
country or ruler’. The word thus is subconsciously associated with government or rule of a
particular set of people over the so called space, here defined as territory. Space on the other
hand is defined as ‘an amount of an area or of a place that is empty or available for use.’ The
distinction between the two terms is very narrow however it has been elucidated by Manu
Goswami, in his book Producing India where the two have been defined from a socio-economic
perspective as well.
