Back in Sunway University, as I was a recipient of Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr.

Jeffrey
Cheah Entrance Scholarship Award, I was given the chance to be a Sunway
Student Ambassador. It was a platform which helped to groom and develop all
scholars to be an all-rounder. They organized many events such as team building
outing and open-day student recruitment. These activities have allowed me to be
involved in working as a group while having fun and also encouraging potential
student to join Sunway University. I got to meet many new international friends
and practiced my interpersonal skills when talking to students’ parents.
Besides that, I was also an active member in Leap Platinum (Sunway
University’s Scholars Club) and Christian Fellowship. Leap Platinum’s objective
was to groom top students in a development and coaching programme, focusing
on core competencies which were particularly sought after in the workplace. Their
programme covered competency-based workshops by Leaderonomics, networking
activities and mentoring programme with employers. I have attended these highly
interactive & engaging workshops and completed modules on Communication,
Critical Thinking and Professionalism & Ethics.

Thanks to Leap Platinum, I got to enhance my communication skills whereby I

learned the importance of effective communication, thought & interpretation
process and how to be a good listener. As one of the activities’ group leader, I got
to problem solve, multi-task and be creative when we had to build a stable tower
with just newspapers. I was also able to get an internship from KPMG when they
and ICAEW came to give a talk on Professionalism & Ethics and was scouting for
talents. During their presentation, I realised for my internship, I have to project
a professional image of myself as a representative of a professional body of
KPMG’s calibre.

Furthermore, coming from a Christian family, I joined Sunway’s

Christian Fellowship as I want to build a strong spiritual relationship with
God and at the same time meeting new people.

2015

For my exchange semester in VU Melbourne, I have just joined CPA

Australia, VU-NAB Career Mentoring Program, VU Viper’s Cheerleading and
Australian Christian Fellowship (ACF).

By joining CPA Australia, I get to be updated on the career events,

workshop and trainings held to further prepare myself for my career as
an Auditor and also network with Australia’s top employers.

Besides that, I joined VU-NAB Career Mentoring Program to learn

about the Australian professional firms' working culture, build contacts and
network with NAB personnel and understand the required employability skills
and volunteering work graduates should have.
Additionally, to maintain a fit body and exercise, I joined cheerleading.
For the past six practices, I really felt like part of the All-Stars Cheer family,
every member has to trust one another fully and teamwork were vital when we
do all of the cheer stunts.

Being away from home and my family, Australian Christian Fellowship

(ACF) helped to give me the spiritual guidance and a warm community which I can
reach out to if I have any troubles. I am also able to participate and help  give
back to the community when ACF organises charity events.
