Ceramic Art

Ceramic Art, also known as Plastic Art is items made from potter’s clay, fired in a kiln to obtain
the final form of the object. Nowadays, with the growth of technologies, many other materials come
into the term ceramic such as glass and cement. Now these items are used for decorative purpose,
industrial, domestic and of course applied art. They are generally classified into earthenware,
stoneware, bone china and porcelain. These items include pottery, sculptures, tableware, terracotta and
even tiles. Of these, all of them can be used for home decoration. The china paintings on the pottery
plates and bowls are a good object as home decorative. You can place a Chinese bowl in your living
room and put flowers in them.

Sculptures are great home decorative items. Sculptures are available in the market in different
sizes. Depending upon your taste, you can always place a sculpture in a corner of your room. Make sure
the room is not too congested. That blocks the attraction to the viewer. If you are opting to smaller size
sculpture, it would be good to place it on a specific stool.

Tableware items, made from stone or ceramic include dishes, cups, bowls and many more. They
serve great as dinner plates and give a great look to your kitchen. Pottery made by artists or ceramists is
sold in market at high prices or displayed in the exhibition hall. These can also be bought and used as
home décor. Tiles are manufactured from hard wearing materials such as ceramic, stone and glass.
These are used on floors, roof, walls, table top and many more purposes.

Lastly figurines are also a form of sculpture. They are mainly human statue, deity or goddesses
and even animals. These are curved from stone or made from ceramic. They serve as great home décor
items.
