Evidence: Wisdom comes with experience

This story occurred in Piedecuesta Santander on a beautiful farm where I had

attended a couples retreat accompanied by people who had been married for more
than twenty years, I was a few weeks after getting married but due to my young
age I was afraid to face this new stage of my life.

An elderly couple who were the example for many marriages approached me since
in that place I was the youngest and they wanted to inquire about my fears that I
would tell them for them to be able to advise me because in my face great anxiety
was evident at this decision that I had taken to get married and get away from my
mother who at that time only discussed daily with me.

Finally I decided to open my heart to this old couple to cry and with all the freedom
to express the feelings of struggle that I had in my heart they very kindly listened to
me with love and told me how beautiful marriage can be when they marry for love
and with the trust that can be had between the couple with whom I would share the
rest of my life.

They told me to give me the opportunity to have a beautiful family and forgive my
mother's lack of affection in order to be happy, I know that it would not be easy to
forget and forgive but it would be worth doing it to start a new life next to the man
who would be my company from now on.

It's been 15 years and I still remember that very rewarding conversation for my life
and I am very grateful to have met this elderly couple who marked my life forever
with such valuable advice and today I can say with satisfaction that I have a
beautiful home.
