Profile 2016-2017 SCHOOL DESCRIPTION ‘Trinity is a college preparatory, coed independent day school founded in 1709, grades K-12. Admission is selective and financial is given, Trinity is no longer sponsored by a specific religious body, and the Trinity community is characterized by religious, racial and ethnic diversity. The senior class is comprised of 112 students, 24% of whom receive financial aid through the school. ‘The year includes two semesters of approximately 18 weeks. All students take a college preparatory program, GRADING AND CLASS RANK Our grading system is A+ through F with grades of A+ and higher designated as Honors grades. Our lowest passing grade is D- ‘Trinity does not rank its students or compute a grade point average. The use of rank or quintile for a group of pre-selected students is thought to be statistically invalid and incomplete. In the spring, a rank is determined for Cum Laude Society eligibility THE CURRICULUM SUBJECT GRADUATION REQUIREMENT ADVANCED COURSES English 4 years Al upper level English and History courses prepare students, for the AP exams. No official AP classes are offered in these History 3 years (Crisis & Change, Modern subjects. ADVANCED PLACEMENT In May 2016, 214 students wrote a total of 345 examinations in 21 areas: 97% received gradles of 3 or higher; 85% received grades of 4 or 5S.
