Frank Harthoorn from Gorefest

Global Domination: We at Global Domination saw fit to add your release, "False", to our
esteemed Class 6(66) hall of fame. Do you feel this album is worthy of such an honor?
Frank Harthoorn: Yes, I most certainly do.

GD: What was the ultimate goal for you while recording this album?
Frank: To get the music we had in our heads out of there and onto cd. To get certain ideas
about melody, attitude, songwriting, rhythm, to get those known to the world around us.
This might all sound very pretentious, and I'm sure that we'd never formulate it like that
back then, but I really think that was very important to us with "False".

GD: Name something of interest that you remember from the recording sessions.
Frank: It was a pretty hot summer, and the studio was next to the beach, so that was a
great way of winding down after a hard days work, or just passing the time and hanging
out while others were recording. We didn't feel pressured in any major way to deliver, it
was all done quite free-spirited, which I think reflects on the album.

GD: If you could change any one thing about this album, what would you change?
Frank: I wouldn't mind having another go at some of my leads, but other than that, I can't
think of anything. It might do with a better mastering job.

GD: Why do you think this album means so much to those who consider it a Class 6(66)?
Frank: Well, I like to think it's because it was something different. We weren't afraid of
doing our own thing and not adhering to any conventions. There's quite a lot of melody in
there, which adds to the overall catchiness of the whole thing, and that really seemed to
speak to people at the time. Well, that and because it's a bloody heavy album.

GD: Finally, as an artist and musician, what special place does this album hold in your
heart?
Frank: It's the album that put us on the map. It made clear of what we as a band were, and
in fact are. It gave us opportunities to tour the world, with bands we respected very much.
It was very much "us", and therefore it's our most important album, I think, by far.
