Sub: Academic Support Programme for SC Students
Dear Madam/Sir,
This has reference to the letter from the Secretary, D/o Social Justice & Empowerment
to provide a special thrust for the welfare of SCs, “Allocation for Welfare of SCs”
(AWSC) made in the budget (Statement 10A of the Budget), forwarded by MHRD vide
letter no. F.N. 1-1/2020-SC/ST dated 16" March, 2020. This fund is meant for making
direct and specific interventions for betterment of SCs that would result in measureable
outcomes
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment while monitoring of utilization of
funds provided under AWSC, decided that there shall be specific and direct
interventions for the welfare of SCs based on their needs and deprivations. An
“Academic Support Programme” may be launched in all HEls. Under this programme,
the students’ academic deficiencies may be identified through a well-designed test
and academic support programmes may be devised for each student in accordance
with their actual requirement. You are requested to launch “Academic Support
Programme’ for identifying and addressing the academic deficiencies of SC students
in accordance with their actual requirement. These programmes may vary from two
months to six months depending on the requirements of the students
Action taken in this regard may kindly be uploaded on the University Activity Monitoring
Portal (UAMP) as per the format enclosed.
