It analyzed 768 VMs, currently running in VMware vSphere on-premises, and compared those Costs to Google Cloud Platfomm’s Google Compute Engine. High-Level Results: ‘* Migrating 761 eligible VMs to GCP will cost your organization an additional $318,989 (39%) per year, for a possible three year additional cost of up to $956,967. ‘* 631 VMs snould be migrated to GCP instances on 18 deaicated Sole Tenant Nodes (including live migration nodes) for $1,034,821/year for compute, storage, and operating systems on the nodes. * The optimal vCPU overcommitment ratio is 1.54 vCPUs on 1 Sole Tenant Node vCPU. ‘* 180 VMs should be migrated to GCP instances not on Sole Tenant Nodes that will consume guest Microsoft or Linux licenses from Google Cloud. These instances will account for $92,218 of the total GCP cost. The estimated OS cost for GCP is $26,12t/year © Leveraging BYO Microsoft Licenses on 486 GCP instances running on Sole Tenant Nodes saved you $288,530/year. Leveraging BYO Linux Licenses could save you $14,483/year across 25 GCP instances. ‘* The estimated storage cost for GCP is $435,974/year. © 207 of 761 VMs eligible for migration, did not have performance data for rightsizing the workloads, and were therefore analyzed as configured. ‘* Of the 766 VMs in scope for this assessment, § were not supported by GCP. 1 VM was, running desktop Operating System; 4 VMs were running other Operating Systems incompatible with GCF. ‘* 41 hosis will need to be replaced prior to a vSphere 6 5 upgrade; these hosts are fine now, but they are incompatible with vSphere 6.5. * You have VMs with Operating System risk in your environment. 235 VMs are running ‘Operating Systems that are no longer supported by platform vendors, and 9 VMs are running Operating Systems that are due to come off support in the next six months. This report output, brought to you by Google and powered by CloudPhysics, compares the costs of running workloads in the current virtual data center to the simulated costs of running those workloads in Google Cloud Platform, identifying possible cost savings opportunities and providing a clear financial analysis of the opportunity to your organization GCP Settings GCP Location: United States Maximum Oversubscription: Optimal ‘Storage Type: Zonal BYO Miciosof Licenses: Yes Storage Media: Optimal Exclude Live Migration Nodes: No Matcn to standard instances ony: No Allow Desktop OS/MSDN: No Exclude E2 instances: No Term Lerath: 1 Year Sole Tenant Nodes Included: Yes Instance Class: Regular BYO Linux Licenses: No 40115 ee Cu Saar e GOOGLE CLOUD COMPUTE aU UNL ee eeu eke ee eae general-purpose VMs, compute-optimized VMs, and memory-optimized VMs. GENERAL COMPUTE PURPOSE OPTIMIZED N2 C2 20% A0% PRICE-PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENTIN IMPROVEMENT PERFORMANCE PER CORE Best price-performance ratio for a variety of workloads VIRTUAL MACHINES Higher per-thread performance with up ‘to 40% higher CPU frequency vs. N1 provide the highest performance per core available on Google Cloud Up to60 vCPUs 3.8 GHz in Turbo mode Up to 80 vCPUs and up to 640 GB MEMORY OPTIMIZED M2 Oreal2rs VIRTUAL MACHINES ADDED ‘Accommodate the most demanding SAP applications 416 vCPUs, 12 T8 208 vCPUs, 6 TB Check availability of new Google Cloud instances*hear you.
