Story 1: Kwento ni Para-teacher Dina

Si Dina Manzanero ay isang aktibong magulang na naging bahagi sa mga programa at proyekto ng
Paaralang Elementary ng Dagat-Dagatan simula ng ang kanyang anak ay nag-aral sa paaralan bilang
mag-aaral sa Unang Baytang noong 2008. Siya ay naging boluntaryong tagapagsanay sa MTAP SA
Unang Baytang sa pakikipagtulungan ni Gng. Leilani Estrada, isang Master Teacher 2 na nagdala ng
maraming tagumpay sa paaralan sa District hanggang sa Regional level.

Siya ay sumailalim sa pagsasanay sa Responsible Parenthood at Leadership Program mula sa Rotary

Club of North Bay East D. 3800. Siya rin ay aktibong magulang na naglaan ng serbisyo at panahon sa
Gulayan sa Paaralan at Go Green Program para sa Unang Baytang.

Gamit ang kanyang karanasan sa MTAP training at pagtuturo sa mga batang mag-aaral sa loob ng
halos 12 taon, siya ay isa mga napili para maging Para-Teacher sa ilalim ng Project TLC (Tutor a
Learning Child), isang inisyatibo ng Sangay ng Navotas para tulungan ang mga mag-aaral na nasa
maralitang pamilya, kung saan walang kakayahan o panahon ang mga magulang na suportahan ang
kanilang home-based learning gamit ang modules. Bago gampanan ang volunteer work, sumalang
muna siya at ibang kasama sa orientation at capability building na ginawa ng paaralan para sa
volunteer para-teachers.

Sa kasalukuyan siya ay gumaganap na Para-teacher kay Karen Zambrano, isa sa mga mahihirap na
mag-aaral sa DDES na beneficiary ng Project TLC.

makeshift roof parked on the side of the road. She
has four more siblings. Her parents cannot support
her education because her father is busy all day
making both ends meet by scavenging and trading
scrap metals and reusable trash. Her mother is busy
tending to her siblings. With para-teacher Dina,
Karen can now continue his education even in this
hard situation.
