YOKO-SHIHO-GATAME (Side Four Quarter Hold)
Kneeling on your partner's side, grab his belt between his legs, as low as
possible under his buttock. With the other hand, grab your partner's neck around
your head and bring that head back by pulling it towards your thigh. In this
position, Uke's right arm must be in the air and blocked by your knee.

So spread your knees as far as possible, one against the opponent's hip,
the other practicing under his shoulder. Make sure your feet are firmly on the

ground.
FIRST ESCAPE
Pivot towards your opponent and take his belt with both hands. Engage
your elbow on the inside of his hip and pulling the pelvis back, bring your knee
in front of him. Continue to group yourself together with your thigh still parallel
to the ground and bring your opponent to the middle of your legs. The
immobilizer is broken. You can then counter attack (see entries).

immobilization half-break to squeeze the top of Uke with both of your knees and,
pushing away,

SECOND ESCAPE
When you try to place your knee between you and your partner, your
partner will resist pushing forward. Use this reaction to tip him forward by
pulling him by the belt with one hand and pushing the other under his stomach
with the other. But don't pull it perpendicular to you. Pass it towards your head
for ease.

THIRD ESCAPE
You can try to put your right arm back under your opponent's arm and lie
on your somach.
