Thereare two waysof regulatingthe speedfor a double-acting cylinder,you
canexhaustthrottle(meter-out) or supplyair throttte(meter-in).Forexhaust
throttling,thereis an initialjoltandthenthe forcesareequalised but it hasa
better possibilityfor regulating.For supply air throttling,it has a steady
initialmotionbut poor possibilityof regulation. lt is usedmainlyfor small
cylindersagainstthe load.
