Argument 1.

Posting names and other related information should not be posted; it will not help in
addressing the issue and may even bring people into irrational thinking and unnecessary panic.

Posting names and other related information that someone’s identity will be worst in the patient who
are tested positive and also to the family. it would bring people to become extreme of fear and afraid of
people in the said country. It brings to discriminate, stigma, that the patients will be more ashamed.
People who are tested positive will be more afraid because of the people might be threatening the life
of positive in Covid-19 because people who contracted to the corona virus is similar to stigma and
discrimination associated with early cases like HIV and AIDS and corona virus is very complicated in the
society that have been dramatically captured the public’s attention. And also the identity of tested
positive in COVID 19 once it spread, the patient was tantamount to a death sentence, they will chose to
end their life rather than facing stigma. And it really hurts to them because they didn’t wanted to have
that kind of virus, they think also the lives of others therefore they want to help as one not discriminate
someone. Hence, person who are tested as positive in COVID-19 experience worse stigma, they are
ostracized once their condition revealed. And discrimination may lead to suicide.

According to the former president of the professional civil society organization AIDS Society of
the Philippines, Dr. Secson says that like in the case of HIV-AIDS information campaign there should be
clear, positive, inclusive, and compassionate messages across audiences. He also appealed to the Filipino
to rethink their attitude towards COVID patients and survivors and he added also that “ COVID 19
survivors are part of the solutions and not the problem.”

Therefore, being posted of their names and other related information is against the patient’s
rights because it is confidentiality and their privacy that should always be the prime consideration.

Argument 2. Posting names and other related information must not be informed well in the society, the
people might be talking nonsense in the issue and there is no better intention

Posting names and other related information must not be informed well, there are people who are
making nonsense of talking behind that person and this will lead of dread especially when they know
that this person who are tested positive is near from their place. And also the people will bring wrong
information because of false information or rumors that will lead fallacious to the society. This sharing
of patient’s identity is not giving a better intention because mostly it brings huge negative effect in
someone’s identity and also to the family. For instance, when you are owning a convenience store and
you are tested positive therefore, the neighbors might think “they used to be nice neighbors then they
give dread to us” therefore, the owner tend to close their convenience store because of that thinking of
their neighbors.

COVID -19 patients are ostracized; According to Jonathan, an office worker who was discharged
from the hospital “I’ve never shown my face to neighbors ever since I came home, I never attempt to
wave from the window”.
Hence, it was not easy to the people who are tested positive in COVID 19, because people are
continually discriminate someone and people once they knew some information they will spread like
virus.
