I. PRE-LESSON: (5 mins)
1. Pupils recall previous lesson on the characteristics of the main characters of the story
verbally (Aloo and mother) (Lollipop sticks)

II. DEVELOPMENT: (50 mins)


Activity 1
2. Pupils watch a short video clip on ‘Sad I Am’. (1 min)
3. Pupils sit in groups of four. Each group is given a set of cards containing pictures and
words to describe feelings.
4. Pupils in turn pick a card and show facial expressions shown on the card.
5. Pupils go through a list of 5 quotations in the handout from the text with their talk
partner.
6. Pupils complete a matching activity individually; match quotations with feelings. (DS-
HP find more quotations from the textbook and describe the feelings)
ACTIVITIES: 7. Pupils compare their answers with their talk partner. (FA: Peer-Assessment) Answers
are given by the teacher (Reward-Compliments)
Activity 2
8. Pupils watch a 3-minute video clip on YouTube about giving opinions (Exemplar-
British Council’s video).
9. In groups, pupils give two personal opinions verbally about one of the main
characters with textual evidence. (DS: HP give more than 2 opinions) (Medals and
Mission)
10. Pupils share their opinions verbally as a class. (FA: Hot Seat)

III. POST-LESSON: (5 mins)

11. Pupils write 3 words to express feelings that they have learnt in the lesson (FA-Exit
Card)
