6b) If you have downloaded the TD program from the Topcon
website, double-click on the Topcon Downloader.exe
file saved to your computer and follow the on-screen
instructions to install the program files.

9) Select the COM port on the TD window that matches 14) The control box will exit programming mode and begin

11) Click Open and select the correct application file


(example: “9256 Paver.hex”) previously downloaded
from the Topcon website to your computer, or on the
9256-4019 CD-ROM.
• Press the Auto button and hold for 15 seconds to
enter the technician’s menu. CON will appear on
the display, and the beeper will beep once.

12) Press Download to erase the old flash memory and down-

15) Power down the control box, disconnect the cables, and
secure the front panel.
16) The control box is now ready for use.
Note: Since the EEPROM memory is now at factory
defaults, all custom settings such as valve
offsets and gains will have to be reestablished.

13) Close the TD window.
