Introduction to Camtasia 
Installing Camtasia 
The College has a license for TechSmith Camtasia which allows all faculty to install this 
software on their college-owned computer and one personal computer.  

How to Install Camtasia 

Personally Owned PCs and Macs 


If you are on a personally owned computer, contact the IT Helpdesk to get a link to the 
software.  

College-Owned PCs 
If you are on a college-owned PC, you can install Camtasia from the Software Center. ​Note: 
You must be on campus in order to access the Software Center.  
1. Find the Software Center. 
a. Expand the​ Start Menu. 
b. Expand the ​All Programs​ menu option. 
c. Expand the ​Microsoft System Center​ folder. 
d. Click on the ​Software Center ​menu option. 
2. If you were unable to find the Software Center in Step 1, then try to search for it: 
a. Expand the Start Menu. 
b. Enter "Software Center" in the ​Search programs and files​ section. This section 
is located at the bottom of the left hand column of the Start Menu. 
c. Wait for the search results to load. 
d. Click on ​Software Center​ from the results list.  
3. Find Camtasia and install it to your PC. The Software Center will do all of the work for 
you. 

College-Owned Macs 
If you are on a college-owned Mac, contact the IT Helpdesk to request to have Camtasia 
installed.

TechSmith has a library of ​tutorial videos​ on their website 
https://www.techsmith.com/tutorial-camtasia.html​, but it can be tricky to just jump in with both 
feet if you’ve never used a video editor before. Here are some images to help you learn the
