1. What do you think are the functions of major body organs?

Answer:1. the heart pumps around the body.

2. The lungs separate oxygen from the air and remove carbon dioxide.
3. The stomach helps to digest food.
4. The intestines absorb nutrients from food.
5. The liver removes poisons from the body.
6. The kidneys filter blood and produce urine. The walls of the small intestine absorb the
digested nutrients into the bloodstream. The blood delivers the nutrients to the rest of the
body. Large intestine. The waste products of the digestive process include undigested parts of
food and older cells from the GL tract lining.
2. What is a heartbeat?

Answer: when the heart pumps blood, a force is created. It is the heartbeat.

3. Why does the heart pump blood to the lungs before it pumps blood to the rest of the
body?

Answer: the heart pumps blood without oxygen to the lungs first so that it can carry the
blood with oxygen to the body later.

4. What is the difference between heartbeat & pulse?

Answer: the heartbeat is the process of pumping blood to your body and your puls is your
heart rate, or the number of times your heart beats in one minute.

5. Is your pulse rate always the same? Why do you think this is?
Answer: A normal resting heart rate for adults ranges from 60 to 100 beats per minute.
Generally, a lower heart rate at rest implies more efficient heart function and better
cardiovascular fitness. For example a well-trained athlete might have a normal resting heart
rate closer to 40 beats per minute.

6. Why do you think we breathe faster when we exercise?

Answer: during exercise there is an intestine in physical activity and muscle cells respire more
than they do when the body is at rest. The heart rate increases this makes sure that more
oxygen is absorbed into the blood, and more carbon dioxide is removed from it.

7. How does the digested food reach all parts of the body?

Answer: the walls of the small intestine absorb the digested nutrients into the bloodstream.
The blood delivers the nutrients to the rest of the body. Large intestine. The waste products
of the digestive process include undigested parts of food and older cells from Gl tract lining.
8. Why must food be digested?

Answer: digestion is important for breaking down food into nutrients, which the body uses
for energy, growth, and cell repair. Food and drink must be changed into smaller molecules of
the nutrients before the blood absorbs them and carries them to cells throughout the body.

9. What is the name of the main process carried out by the kidneys?

Answer: _Filtration is the mass movement of water and solutes from plasma to the
renal tubule that occurs in the renal corpuscle. About 20% of the plasma volume
passing through the glomerulus at any given time is filtered. This means that
about 180 liters of fluid are filtered by the kidneys every day._

10. Name three things doctors can do if your kidneys don’t work.

Answer: There are two treatment options for kidney failure: dialysis (hemodialysis
or peritoneal dialysis) and kidney transplantation. Talk with your family so you
can decide which treatment will best fit your lifestyle needs. Also you always
have the choice to change to a different type of treatment in the
future.________________________________________________________________________
