New Course: Selling DDP/EMP Production Printing Systems
Training Format: Four-Day Instructor-led class

Ricoh University is pleased to announce the launch of the new Selling DDP/EMP Printing Solutions sales
training course.

The Selling DDP/EMP Printing Solutions course is a four-day class that concentrates on preparing qualified
sales professionals to sell into high volume production printing environments. Applications using the current
DDP70e/92, DDP184 and EMP156 systems are explored to assist in penetrating the highly competitive
production printing markets.

This hands-on, highly interactive course focuses on practical applications and real world
customer environment examples. The target audience is the high-volume sales
professional (with prior experience in the Production Printing sales market), who is
transitioning into a Production Print Solutions Sales role. Students who successfully complete
this course will be able to accurately provide customer quality demonstrations of the
applications involving the DDP Series Production Printing systems. This course replaces a
previous Ricoh University course, "Selling Ricoh Production Printing Systems"

Prerequisites: This is not an entry-level class. Students are expected to have 1 year or more experience in
delivering customer proposals for solutions in Production Printing environments and understand the
terminology of the industry.

Course Pre-Training Materials:

Students must come to class with competitive research completed to use in the interactive exercises. Please
complete the steps below before attending class:

1. Access competitive information (websites, BLIQ* , your own records, etc.). Setup individual folders
on your laptop and download competitive information into respective folders for:
a. DDP 70e/92
b. DDP 184
c. EMP 156
2. Read the competitive information and come to class prepared to discuss.

3. Pre-Read the Vertical Markets and Software & Partners PowerPoint presentations.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of the course, the sales professional will be able to effectively:

• Articulate the unique details of the production printing market


• Identify and evaluate the unique needs and expectations of production print customers
• Assess the strengths and weaknesses of production printing competitors
• Describe various printing solutions
• Demonstrate the features of the DDP Series systems in a hands-on certification exam
• Apply the production printing sales process
