Classification of Numbers
Numbers : (N)
Mathematical object used to count, measure, and label.
Set of natural numbers 0,1,2,3,4,…

Whole numbers : W
Set of positive whole numbers and have NO fractional parts

Even numbers :
Number that can be divided exactly by 2
Eg : 2,4,6, also -24, 0,98

Odd numbers
Integer that cannot be divided exactly by 2
Eg: 1,3,5,7 also -45

Real numbers (R):That can be positive, negative or zero and can have decimal
places or fractional parts. They usually have UNITS.
Eg: cm, km, .. 38.5cm

Integers : (Z)
That can be positive, negative or zero and NO decimal places or fractional parts.
Positive and Negative:
Positive numbers : Its considered to be greater than Zero
Eg: +12 , + 2
Negative numbers : Its considered to be less than Zero
Eg: -12 , - 2

Prime numbers
Prime number is an integer has no factors other than one and itself.
( Integer that divide a given number without a reminder)
Eg: 17 is a prime number
16 is not because it can be divided by 2,4,8
Composite numbers
Number that is prime. It does have factors. So, is the opposite of a prime
number
