Definition

The circulating nurse is the human link factor between the surgical team that will
intervene surgically and the static equipment such as clothes, instruments,
solutions and sutures, these are equipment that will be used during the
development of the surgical act.

Definición
La enfermera circulante es el factor enlace humano entre el equipo de cirugía que
va a intervenir quirúrgicamente y el equipo estático como son: 
ropa, instrumental, soluciones y suturas, estos son equipos que se van a usar
durante el desarrollo del acto quirúrgico.

Moral responsibilities:

2. To maintain and respect the individuality of the patient.
3. To have a discreet performance.
4. Have positive human relationships.
5. Avoid technical reporting to family members.
6. Use proper and correct language.
7. Working with a sense of responsibility and humanism.

Responsabilidades morales:
1. tener ética profesional
2. Mantener y respetar la individualidad del paciente.
3. Tener una actuación discreta.
4. Tener relaciones humanas positivas.
5. Evitar informes técnicos a los familiares.
6. Usar un lenguaje adecuado y correcto.
7. Trabajar con un sentido de responsabilidad y humanismo.

The technical responsibilities of the circulating nurse are divided into pre, trans and
post-operative:
1. Observe and develop the techniques, routines and regulations of an
operating room (operating theatre).
2. Collaborate with the health team during the development of the surgery
3. Perform asepsis and antisepsis in the surgical room.
 4. Prepare the room by bringing the equipment, equipment, clothing and
instruments needed for the surgical operation.
5. Check the electro-medical devices, their proper functioning.
6. Review and identify the patient together with his or her recovery file later in
the ward.
7. Help the nurse prepare everything necessary for the surgery.
8. Place the patient in an appropriate position according to the type of surgery
to be performed.
9. Together with the instructional nurse, count gauze or compresses and
instruments before starting the surgery and before closing the cavity.
10. Close the sterile field by placing vacuum cleaner and lights in the necessary
place.

Las responsabilidades técnicas de la enfermera circulante se dividen en el pre,

trans y post-operatorio:

1. Observar y desarrollar las técnicas, rutinas y reglamentos de una sala de

operaciones (quirófano).
2. Colaborar con el equipo de salud durante el desarrollo de la intervención
quirúrgica
3. Realizar asepsia y antisepsia en la sala quirúrgica.
4. Preparar la sala llevando el equipo, material, ropa e instrumental necesario
para la intervención quirúrgica.
5. Revisar los aparatos electromédicos, su buen funcionamiento.
6. Revisar e identificar al paciente junto con su expediente en recuperación
posteriormente en la sala.
7. Ayudar a la enfermera a preparar todo lo necesario para la cirugía.
8. Colocar al paciente en posición adecuada de acuerdo al tipo de cirugía a
realizar.
9. Realizar junto con la enfermera instrumentista el recuento de gasas o
compresas e instrumental antes de iniciar la cirugía y antes de cerrar
cavidad.
10. Cerrar el campo estéril colocando aspirador y luces en el lugar necesario.
