The circulating nurse is the human link factor between the surgical team that will
intervene surgically and the static equipment such as clothes, instruments,
solutions and sutures, these are equipment that will be used during the
development of the surgical act.

La enfermera circulante es el factor enlace humano entre el equipo de cirugía que
va a intervenir quirúrgicamente y el equipo estático como son:
ropa, instrumental, soluciones y suturas, estos son equipos que se van a usar
durante el desarrollo del acto quirúrgico.

The technical responsibilities of the circulating nurse are divided into pre, trans and
post-operative:
1. Observe and develop the techniques, routines and regulations of an
operating room (operating theatre).
2. Collaborate with the health team during the development of the surgery
3. Perform asepsis and antisepsis in the surgical room.
4. Prepare the room by bringing the equipment, equipment, clothing and
instruments needed for the surgical operation.
5. Check the electro-medical devices, their proper functioning.
6. Review and identify the patient together with his or her recovery file later in
the ward.
7. Help the nurse prepare everything necessary for the surgery.
8. Place the patient in an appropriate position according to the type of surgery

9. Together with the instructional nurse, count gauze or compresses and
instruments before starting the surgery and before closing the cavity.
10. Close the sterile field by placing vacuum cleaner and lights in the necessary
place.
