Brief note on Organic cluster development: Gujarat.

Gujarat has identified clusters for organic farming under NRLM. As

roll out strategy plan circulated earlier clusters are made of 5 to 10
villages of each block covered for organic farming cluster development.
There is coordination with Paramparagat Krushi vikas Yojna (PKVY) for
identification of such clusters. 3274 Mahila Kishans identified and
formation of local group for organic farming is under process. Collection
of Local Group member’s data is ongoing. MKSP and aspirational
districts are on focus for organic cluster development.

Registration on PGS portal is also not done as profiling is ongoing.

Human resource for organic farming is not placed and work is only
done by available staff with the help of agriculture department. Process
for regional council is also not done yet. Training and capacity building
is required at all level. Gujarat is seeking proper guidance and support
for organic farming implementation.
