There is no right way to do the wrong thing.

This sentence is not just a sentence it is one of the most important life advice in itself. This
sentence makes me revisit my philosophy class in which my professor explained me
chapters of “Problems of philosophy” a book written by Sir “Bertrand Russell” in 1912.He
said in the book that “Is there any knowledge in the world which is so certain that no
reasonable man could doubt it? yes after reading this you think there are many but are you
100% sure about it? I guess no, let's take an example a red chair is there in a brightly lighted
room, you enter and saw the chair is having a certain shape and certain color combination,
now if you move around the room the same chair will appear to you differently from every
different angle and side and with the varied color combination too, similarly with the
different intensity of light falling on chair its color seen by us will be different with different
intensity of light, in bright light it will appear different with less shadows and in dim light
with more shadows, but In reality, we assume that there is only one color of the chair, yet
the appearance of many colors contradicts with our assumption and this too is happening
with a single individual, yourself, Now suppose another person visits the same room what
he will see, observe and interpret will be completely different than what you saw before so
we can conclude that the color seems to be a relation depending on the observer, his point
of view, and conditions like the intensity of the light falling on the chair. with the previous
understanding now, we can establish that no two people could share one identical point of
view and every individual have their perceptions, beliefs, understanding, and values.
This set us perfectly now to talk about what is right and what is wrong. Now applying the
previous logic we can state that every individual has different perceptions of rights and
wrongs let’s take an example of shooting down 10,000 camels by the Australian
Government according to them and many people it was a right thing to do, but there are
hundred thousand’s people who condemned it, defined it as cruelty and wrongdoing. There
always be a never-ending debate between the people’s perception and opinions of any
events and none of them is 100% right or wrong as no one in this world can validate this. So,
in the end, it comes down to the individual’s beliefs and understanding which makes them
who they are.
Not everything in the world can’t be validated, the rights and wrongs can be validated based
on legal and moral aspects. let's take an example a robbery or theft will always be
considered as a crime no matter for whatsoever reasons it is carried out it is wrong legally
and morally even though for the person who was carrying out it was a right thing to do. So,
this creates a fine line between the right and wrong, let's take another example of terrorists
who kill thousands of people every year believing that they're just protecting their religion
and avenging the ones who had sacrificed themselves for the same earlier, for them, it is
like a social service a holy and pious thing that they are doing for their religion but in reality,
they're doing the most heinous crime just in the name of the religion, here their beliefs and
perception doesn't matter it is wrong and whole world can validate this even without any
legal or moral codes of conducts.
The government of every country enforces law and order which the country citizens follow,
and this ensures peace and harmony in the county contrary to this a man in 1935 defied all
this and ordered to kills his countrymen in the most brutal ways possible just because they
are from the different community of the same religion? It didn't stop there, and he went on
to capture another country forcefully and what happens afterward the whole world knows.
This teaches us a lesson about how a single wrong can undo all rights which were there in
the first place for many years, this tells us how a single individual who is wrong can make a
huge difference to the whole world but according to him, he was doing it all right.
According to me, there is no right way to do the wrong thing because even the right thing
executed wrongly will end up in wrong and it's not mathematics where two wrong make it
right it will still be wrong. People often end up doing the wrong things nowadays as this
world is becoming more materialistic and to fulfill these temporary gains and pleasure like
greed, money, and lust to gain this materialistic satisfaction they are doing the wrong things
in the name of right ways but deep down in their heart they know something is not right
because all these gains and pleasures are temporary and at the end, they get to know it's
not worth it compared to what they had sacrificed for having it in the first place and u
cannot even justify giving reasons for it because you know if it demands explanation in the
first place how can it be right then. If it's done right and it is done with the purest of
intentions it will never demand an explanation because there are no questions marks
associated with it. So, when it is wrong it is wrong and when it is right it is right and there’s
no other way around it.
In the end, to conclude it I will like to give an advice because it starts with one and should
end with one too.
“Don't feel sorry for yourself if you have chosen a wrong road, Turn around”
Because it is rightly said that “There is no right way to do the wrong thing”.
