NoF.1-1/2020 (Secy), dated 29" April, 2020 (ii) This Department Letter No.15488/ HE, dated 07" May, 2020 Madam/Sir, After making a comprehensive assessment of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation and following the principles of UGC guideline issued on 29" April, 2020 on Examinations and Academic Calendar, the following decisions have been taken by the State Government for uniform implementation by all State Public Universities and Autonomous Colleges coming under the Higher Education Department. A. Under-Graduate(UG) Examinations under Semester _System(not applicable to Shri Jagannath Sanskrit Vishvavidyalaya,Puri (SJSV): a. The intermediate Semesters i.e. 2 and 4 Semester Examination shall not be held for the current academic session 2019-20.‘The Universities’ Autonomous Colleges will decide altemative methods ” to evaluate performance of students as per their Examination Regulations or prevailing practice elsewhere; conforming to UGC guidelines cited as above. .. The students of the aforesaid semesters shall be automatically promoted to next semesters for 2020-21 academic session. . For students of intermediate Semesters, regular Back Paper examination shall be held as usual. ‘There shall be no separate Back Paper examination for the UG students of. Terminal Semester (6'" semester, 2020), if a student has maximum two Back Papers. Instead, the Universities/ Autonomous Colleges may adopt the proportionate quotient method or any other acceptable method to evaluate the student. Results of such students shall be declared along with other regular students of 6 Semester Examination. However, if a student has more than 02 Back Papers, then s/he has to appear regular examination in all the Back Papers as and when conducted. Therefore, results of such students may not be declared along with other regular students of 6" Semester Examination. Universities/Autonomous Colleges shall conduct Back Paper examinations for PG students of all Semesters as usual. The schedule should be notified at the earliest.
